Since getting a T2 about two years ago I have noticed that there are Terrano's and Mavericks all over the place here in the south of Ireland. Even seen a few Mistrals. Seems a bit unusual there only seems to be a handful of members on this site from Ireland though. Are most of the owners on this side of the water as unsociable as I am I wonder?

i think they manage to weed most of them out at the membership application stage, but a few slip through :lol

but seriuosly, maybe its just a feeling of detatchment when the club is based in England? maybe we could have a more active section to represent Irish members and their interests?

I don't think i would have joined the club were it based in Ireland, nothing against ireland, just my own personal ignorance, it just wouldn't have occured to me to do it, but maybe that's just me? or maybe it is reflected in the lack of Irish members?

Now that you mention it don't know if I would join the club if it was based in Ireland either. Maybe the more active section to represent Irish members and their interests is an idea--as long as it does not mean we actually have to take a real interest in anything.

welcome one and all to a nutty community, great technical resource, some interesting chat and I think, well worth a pittance...

I dont think that we are use internet to the same degree as the English. All you have to do is look at the Irish ebay site to see that most of the sale items are from England.

I think we are more likely to go down the pub and find a mechanic/tyre fitter etc having a pint and ask him:rolleyes:

I have no problems with using any site that will let me in:D. Some good austrailian 4x4 sites

Regards
Lee

Yep,we're probably as unsociable as you:thumb2:thumb2 Don't know the reason unless it's the "auld enemy" syndrome rearing it's ugly head again. It might also be the fact that parts are a lot cheaper in the UK so it's not much advantage to us here and any breakers I've gone to looking for T2 bits don't have any T2s. Plus it's to far a drive to Tezzers or Team Wales members to get some help with the spanner work LOL I think the bottom line over here is,unless you join a 4x4 club or organisation, help will be hard to find. I'm pretty sure these groups do help each other with bits and manual work if needed. This forum is more open to help anyone in bother and usually with the correct info too, and you can see how many are willing to help members who are living within a reasonable distance. There is also the other thing to be considered, which is the fact you can give and receive help here with very little effort and nobody gets upset if you don't take their advice:clap:clap I think there is a great mix of knowledge, banter, slagging and just fun here that is lacking on some other sites. Anyway,I still never found out which part of Ireland you live in, you might be close to me.

Live in Co. Waterford, An Deise Abu. For some reason you are right about the breakers. Loads of Terranos/Mavericks on the road but very few of them at the breakers. I have had some luck with the breakers though. Lot of breakers listing all kinds of parts for Terranos on the partfinder website but when you call them they have very little of the stuff they list. Spent half the morning on the phone to guys who say they have bits I need and they all tell me they don't have the stuff despite listing it. Probably wouldn't get away with that nonsense across the pond.

Sorry Liam you are wrong!

I get upset if you dont like my advice

Hey Colin, when you say " Just gotta get the old girl on the road" ... I hope she's not swinging her handbag !!! :naughty

well back in the day when rob had this site and mick after him, we had an irish link to this site, no changes on the site, as its multi national as is, just rob and mick paid for the irish domain which linked back to here it was "www.nissan4x4ownersclub.ie" and even have decals still.

but this has not been renewed or mentioned since.

the reason i approached rob originally was for the very reason mentioned above, there are alot on nissan 4x4 on irish roads and little help available here. i have had great help, advice and friends gained from this site.
