Glad to hear that the truck keeps running for a bit longer!! :thumbs

Has your local guy told you where the fuel line is leaking exactly? But as BIGSEAN already said you might be able to cut the holed bit out and replace it with a flexible fuel line. Saves a lot of work and that way you don't have to replace the whole fuel line.

Better leave that job for when you need to do more welding work on the rust. :augie

Sounds like we should be carrying a length of 8mm fuel line in the car with a couple of jubilee clips, after all, we can get under these trucks to get to the pipes without having to jack them up. Try doing this on a fiesta at the side of the road...:doh:doh:doh

oh hum

its the best option i did the rear brake pipes awhile ago i just cut out the bad stuff and made up some new pipes and connected then, i will be doing the fuel pipes in the same way but just longer rubber line:thumb2s, this site is just great:thumb2

Fixed

.... thanks for the advice and support. Fuel line fixed. It was holed along the short length near the tank that was not covered with protective plastic. Fixed without taking tank off. Charged for 3 hours labour (including diagnosis). Well chuffed - better than the 3,000 euro the french garage was proposing.

Does anyone have enough French to draft a sarcastic letter to the Nissan main dealer in Chartres explaining the limitations of their diagnostic skills.:D

My French is rubbish, however just had a quick play with google translate and it managed the following:

Je suis déçu par vos compétences concessionnaires de diagnostic.
Ils ont proposé une pompe d'injection Euro 3000 sera équipée, alors qu'en fait, la faute avait un trou dans la ligne de carburant.

From this:
I am disappointed by your dealers diagnostic skills.
They proposed a 3000 Euro injection pump be fitted, when in fact, the fault was a hole in the fuel line.

Have a play with it, seems it may good enough to put a complaint together?

Thanks for that idea. I've sent them a letter in what will probably be pidgeon french. Probably won't get a reply - but it makes me feel better.
