Any preferences where to purchase??? Before Sunday 😁😁

No idea mate, ring round your motor factors and see who can do it. Also worth trying Nissan main stealers, you never know, they may have on e in stock

going to be tricky. get on ebay, see where the sellers are located and if local get to them, otherwise its main dealers but I doubt they will have them in stock. next idea is scrappers, get one form a 2.0 primera or terrano if its the bosch type.

Cheap is not always best.I had a cheapish one that let me down after only 3 days..

I know it's not a 3.0l, but when I disconnect my MAF, or even over adjust the MAF amp, so the car goes into limp mode, I never get the EML on. It does come on when the car does it's pre-start checks, so it's not the bulb.

The thing is, when the MAF is not working correctly, I can not rev the car over 1000 RPM. There would be no way to drive it like that

yup I agree, just trying to show him an example of what he needs...I did find a proper bosch one, £109 which isn't the end of the world either:thumbs

Yeah i understand your point Clive.Bout what he needs.I also have the Bosch one one my T2.

Does the maf control the turbo? My turbo seems to kick I around 3000 rpm.. When the maf s unplugged it doesn't seem to come on at all? Cheers rob
Unlike the 2.7L unit, the turbo on the ZD30 motor is a variable geometry (VNT) type and the boost is in direct control of the ECU by modulated vacuum. This is done in approximately five steps, 0%, 25%, 50%, 75% and 100%.
The ECU will only allow the turbo to spool up when there is sufficient fuel at particular engine rpm.
If the MAF is indicating low airflow the fueling applied will only match the (false) airflow, under these conditions the turbo spooling will be retarded, as you have seen.
The turbo on the ZD30 should start to spool up >1800 RPM.

Also, as proven, with no MAF output at all the ECU will keep the fueling on a low map, and the turbo control vanes will remain at 0%, effectively giving you a normally aspirated engine.

Thanks for all the help!! I've just driven via Ipswich from work on the way home to Sidcup (160 miles!!!!)and picked up a maf unit from euro car parts for£160 inc vat:eek:I'm just hoping it fits and sorts this power problem out!!ill let you know later if it makes any difference

Got home checked the electrical clip/ socket coming from wiring loom.... Dos t fit the new socket on the new maf  wasted journey!!!!! The socket on the top of the new maf is bigger than the wiring socket..

If I'd gone all that far for a part I'd have stuck it on outside the ruddy shop
Unlucky mate , try ringing them in the morning for a moan. you never know they may be sympathetic :augie

The initial or low down power is the most significant element the MAF can influence, it has most effect in the idle to 2000 rpm range, after that the turbo kicks in (or should), then the air flow becomes so much greater that the MAF is largely incapable of measuring it with any degree of accuracy.

Big thanks!!!! You all seem to explain things in a way I can understand:thumb2:thumb2 cheers rob

Morning!! Right gone outside and found some numbers on the sensor.... 22680 75000 and afh70m-38 reg of motor is oe54 ura cannot find any corresponding mafs on ebay etc.. Just phone nissan they put reg in and said 5 weeks delivery and £430 plus vat!!!!!!!! can any one help? Or have I got a one of maf sensor?? The number above is almost the same as some advertised .. Will they still work on mine? It seems to be the size / shape of the plug...cheers rob

You could try a quick hot wire if it's only the plug n socket that are different.
4 bits of wire and a box of matches. Stick it in and see. if it works you get tomorrow sorted then search at your leisure on Monday :thumbs

there are two types of maf .... bosch and hitachi ..... I wonder if you have been given the wrong one ? :nenau
