Basically the seals are going in the fuel pump when they start leaking and diesel drips out, but that does not sound the case with yours, more of a delivery problem with the pump not supplying a constant supply when needed under a load.

Have you given the neutral positioning switch a thought then ? :?

the what?? never even heard of it!!! what is it and what does it do?

Neutral positioning switch

if fitted it tells the ecm that the motor is in neutral and adjusts the fuel to a tickover state.if its telling the motor you are in neutral when you are in gear driving it will not deliver enough fuel causing lack of power.i hoped this might be the problem with mine but no such luck.

would the neutral switch show up as a fault when plugged in to the computer?
had it in the dealer, paid an arm an a leg for it to go on to the computer a few months back when the problem first began, all it pointed to was the fuel filter. had that changed twice since then and the problem is still continuing.

loss of power

could be the fuel quantity adjuster sensor.have you had any sensors changed since you first got your problem.i started with the fuses, then the wiring, then the sensors.been an on going saga for about 3 months now with mine until the problem was finally found.

havent had any sensors checked. thought the nissan dealer would have checked these at the time of diagnosis.
where would i start with getting the fuses and sensors checked without having to pay main dealer prices? is it something i can check myself?

checking sensors

if you look in the downloads section there is one that tells you how to read the fault codes without special equipment.i just unplugged the sensor to see if it made any difference in the runnig of the engine.afraid its just a case of trial and error as the fault codes are a bit vauge and just tell you the general area of the problem and the possible causes and remedies.at least it gives you something to work with so you can get started in the right area.
