The revometer stays the same.yes foot fully down in first and second hardly any power no smoke from exhaust. When I get it into 3rd it's fine.don't know if it's bosch or the other one:lol
OK great, next step is to go outside with some help if you're not sure what you're looking at and get a picture of the entire engine bay if possible
Specifically, get some close up pictures of the large cylindrical black canister with the large pipe coming off it on the left hand side, this is found in the front right of the engine bay.
Secondly, smack bang in the centre of the engine bay you'll have the large silver intercooler, this looks like a horizontal radiator if you will and underneath it on both the left and right hand side will be 2 rubber hoses held onto the intercooler with either large spring clips or jubilee clips, get some close up snaps of those.
From what you have described so far it either sounds to me like you have a dodgy MAF (Mass Air Flow) sensor or as stated above, you may be sucking in air from the rubber hoses to the intercooler and losing power that way.
There are two types of MAF's, a Bosch variety and a Hitachi variety, it's widely accepted that the Bosch should be left well alone as if you try to clean it you will damage it, I know from first hand experience that YOU WILL kill it if you try and clean it, the Hitachi on the other hand can be cleaned to great effect using silicone free electrical contact cleaner, I brought mine from Maplins, there is a guide how to do this yourself requiring no more tools than what you'd have lying around in the kitchen drawer at home, you won't be able to access that part of the site yet though as you've not become a full member by paying the £10 per year subscription.
We'll see you straight, do not be dismayed or upset any longer, I'm sure you will be sorted in no time and will end up a long standing member. :thumb2
