Hi,

I've found plenty of threads on the same problem (gearstick has suddenly gone "floppy" but can select gears OK, just very loose) but I wanted to check whether the MkII part fits the Mk1? From the workshop pdf I found this reference for the MkII part:

Nissan part number 32861-1G00

Will this fit the Mk1? If so, can anybody recommend a source please?

Cheers

Dave

all terrano gearboxes work the same way, the manual that is, so i'm sure the parts will fit,:)

I've had a look on the web and I can't find a source for these. Do Nissan still produce the part?

If you check the down loads you will find a detailed description, I fitted new one and it did make some difference to the gear stick.

In case it helps anyone else with the same problem:

I've been ringing round main dealers to try and track the part down with little joy until I was told that the part number is actually:

32861 0 1G00

(replace the hyphen in the middle of the part number quoted in the workshop pdf with a 0 and they can find it). They want £6 for the thing!!!!

Well still a cheap fix when most other fixes are virtually free.:thumb2

So what bit do you actually get for the money, not the whole gear stick surely?

..."and don't call me Surely" ...:augie

What you get for you money is a nylon bush which needs to be fitted on the bottom of the gearstick.

I have updated the part reference in the workshop sheet an will send it for uploading onto the website.

I had that problem, but now quite solid:augie
