what can I get for 3 and bit K, which would be best for towing an 18ft twin axle van, of to scotland in august and the jeep has fuel pressure problems and my 2.7 maverick will be towing our trailer with the 6 canoes, and at the mo i dont trust the jeep !!

Probably wont run to a 3.0 but you should get a decent and unburstable 2.7 TDi of between 02 and 53 vintage approx. If you get a Tunit II fitted (£260-ish refurbed on eBay - from Tunit themselves, or £310 new in their dealers) that then gives you another 25 bhp so virtually same bhp as the 3.0, although the latter is a bit better on fuel.

But that assumes private purchase; dealers tend to ask sillier money given that the tax thing has levelled out.
