Long bolts make it easy to locate crown wheel as it gets tight before normal bolts can locate, do not forget to align your centre pop marks made before disassembly, as you cannot mark the hard crown wheel I put two pops next to two similar that were part of the part number already stamped on it

OK last pic as did not do assembly into carrier, my motor has been off the road since Tuesday and I need to get it back together, this is just torquing up the crown wheel bolts, refitted the assembly into the carrier aligning the pop marks etc and got 8 thou back lash as was before disassembly, diff is now back in the axle.

So to some up it was an easy job, better than the T2 as that had a cruciform and needed the thrust washers machining, hope you enjoyed it as much as I did doing it although I am a bit pushed as need the motor asap, have to say on my own fitting the diff to the axle was a pig, just too heavy for me to lift and place so used the engine hoist with some braketry and jiggery pokery, Rick

Rick you are a wizard, this type of thing seems so complicated.

Well done mate :clap:clap:clap

Nicely put Jim.
I'm saving this as a ref for when I do mine.
Good work Rick, thanks for taking the trouble to take pics.
D

Another story for your book Rick :naughty
Well done.
A great thread that will be referred to often, I imagine. :thumbs

Great job and well explained.

I'm hopefully going to test mine properly on Sunday at the off road/navigation event as I've never needed 4wd yet. Hopefully it will be reliable.

Nice one Rick :D
I've just come back from Iceland drooling over monster trucks out there, unreal.
I'm all enthused to push on with my projects again now.
We'll Trol together soon I hope .
Keep on it :thumbs

When are you guys going to take mine and Ricks advice!!!!!

You just need a LOKKA as we proved when we were out on the plains hey Rick :thumbs

That day, with a LOKKA and the same momentum I reckon you'd have got through that Rick!!!

Duty

Bit pissed off, TNT want another £62 for duty and their charges, told them I was not happy but what do you do, do not worry I will get it back ten fold, scamming barstuards, Rick

I had that demand way back when :augie
I wrote back to them asking why etc
They explained all the hard work they did getting it through customs bla bla .
I said I didn't ask them to, and they never informed me there was a fee to pay. I refused to pay as no agreement has been made between us.

Did that wash as I was going to do that and bottled it after the 5th letter for payment

I've had similar from DHL and refused to pay, refused contact with them and it's all gone quiet.
I subsequently ordered some stuff from Australia which was supposedly sent by DHL, the seller refunded the cost of the item but not the postage. They claimed that it was posted and then lost in the system. The carrier? DHL
Any coincidence?

Well what do you know? had an email this am from TNT saying as the import was low cost they will issue a credit note for their charges, so just leaving the VAT and import duty, I can live with that, Rick
