The Lokka works fine on fixed hubs mate, Rick

Yes but the issue is the diff  As in Lokka don't seem to do one for the newerer fixed hub diffs.
If Steve has auto hubs then the diff will be the same as earlier models and so a Lokka should be available :)

Ah right see your point, Rick

I was thinking of buying a spare front diff to fit a lokka in. so that my car is on the road as long as possible.
can I buy a 2000 or before diff. fit it to that and whack that on? and can I change me hubs to suit?

or do I need sell my truck to go any further?

That's a good plan but you may not need to. Take a pic of your hubs if you're not sure. I have a diff here but can't be sure if it's the same as yours without some more info :thumbs

its on my to do list mate:thumbs

Your 2004 has a different diff to the earlier models, so I guess they have not made one for it yet, it will not be cos of the fixed hubs as the Lokka works fine with them, my off road Mav has fixed hubs and there is another on here with a road going motor that has the Lokka, Rick

Thought it was just the rear axle that got changed didn't know they had changed the front diff aswell. Know the auto hubs went out in 2001 but quite a few have fitted the fixed set up on the earlier models:augie

Some one should do a time line for the sticky's section... e.g. date T2 launched, and the models, then what changed with each step of it's life. Something else I struggle with, in the model names, like Touring, and Salomon.

think there is slight differences to where the hubs attach, I recall selling some auto hubs to stinka but they didn't fit onto his assembly his end (which has fixed hubs)

If the mounting points are the same then I see no reason why you cannot take a diff from a pre 2000 model and fit it with your Lokka, I have no access to a post 2000 model so cannot say, cncfabs may be able to help here, Rick

A 96 Mav but will fit any petrol or diesel to the change around 2000, but probably the pre 2000 diff will fit, waiting on confirmation on this, Rick

Sorry Steve been out in a meeting
The diff I have is a MK2 type , so good upto 2000 I guess :nenau
You're welcome to it for 30 quid mate :thumbs
I'll dig it out and compare against mine to see if there's any identifying marks to help out. :thumb2
