Right just checked my manual Alex press & hold the ultrasonic button for 5 seconds then lock the door via the remote then your dog can jump about as much as it likes & the alarm won't go off:thumb2

That's the same key as i've got Ogri & did as you said & it has worked:thumbs wife still had to grab the handle to early whilst I was seeing if it had worked:doh

:nenau I did try pressing an holding lock and unlock together, but didn't seem to get any response?

I'll have another play soon :thumbs

Is everyones terrano the same? One click of fob unlocks drivers door, two clicks unlocks all doors and boot?

Is there a way to swap it? So one click unlocks all? :nenau
Hi
I found out today that 2 quick presses of the unlock button opens everything in one go. Up to now I've been pressing it once waiting and pressing it again! But I guess you lot knew that already, dint ya! :-(

Watching the wife cockup the handle when getting in is all part of the fun. Especially when its raining.

Now here is a thought that just struck me...

There have been several pictures posted of car keys, and often house keys, with their profiles clearly visible, now we wouldn't show pictures of our credit cards would we.

So I am guessing that it would be quite easy to copy the profile of the key, and some toe rag could gain entry to your vehicle at their convenience.

Add that data to some of the photographs of cars with their number plates showing, and then where you will be at the weekend... and all the information is there for someone to open your vehicle and take what they want, then lock it up, and you'll never know, until you look for something later.

If the alarm goes off, and some are disabled if a key is used, :doh then the thief can open the bonnet and disconnect the alarm, or battery, and say to onlookers... it 's always doing this...:doh

Am I paranoid, or just security conscious.:nenau:nenau

Protect what is yours, you have worked hard for it, don't make it easy for the thieving little ********!

Imay be wrong but I think in reality, this is possible, but extremely difficult as every nook and cranny must be accounted for. For the sake of an old muddy terrano the hassle would greatly out weigh the benefits when you think people are electronically car jacking brand new bmws, audis and the likes worth 100k plus.

Just my 2 cents worth but yes I agree, theoretically it could be done :thumb2

If you leave the dog in the motor you need to switch the ultra sonic's off via the switch on the dash think you have to hold it down for 3 seconds, sounds as if the alarm horn has died:augie

Funny you should say that because if I leave my windows open my hazards flash so it looks like my horn has died also.:doh

Very central locking

My T2 is a bit different - if you push the rear demister switch, the doors will lock!

It's not too much of a concern with nissan keys....used to do some repo for a finance company ... had a set of keys from a certain nissan that I wont name that would unlock(with a bit of a giggle) any nissan i had tried from 1989 to 2002. IT got to the point people would ring up because they had either lost or locked there keys in vehicles knowing I could open it up.
