Location of chasis no on 2004 Terrano 3.0

Hi everybody, I was wondering if anybody could tell me where the chasis number is stamped on the chasis on a 2004 Terrano 3.0. I have run a 2.7 lwb Terrano in Bulgaria for 10 years and it has been a brilliant car for the rough roads and snow in the winter. I have recently bought out a nice black 3.0 litre model but am having trouble registering at the police station in Sofia because I can't show them the chasis number on the chasis. The internet suggested it was on chasis below drivers door. I couldn't find it and rang Nissan technical department who said it was located in near side wheel arch. Still not found. It may be that it has disappeared through corrosion or maybe Nissan stopped marking the chassis on later models. Has anybody had the same problem. Any information would be greatly appreciated. nissan may be able to tell the chassis number by giving the numbers off the aluminum plate the vin plate located on the bulkhead in the engine bay:nenau

During my last CT in France, the technician looked for the chassis number on the main chassis rail just forad of the drivers side rear wheel. He told me that this should have the underseal scraped back to reveal the number for inspection....:nenau

Normally the vin plate under bonnet is enough. Got to admit I wouldn’t know where to start looking for it stamped elsewhere.

As far as I am aware but should be on the chassis under the drivers door, heard several people refer to it but never looked myself, will have a look tomorrow, Rick

Thanks to everybody who responded to my request for info regarding Terrano chasis numbers. I did write to Nissan who confirmed that it should be below the drivers door. I had hoped that they would say that they had discontinued stamping the chasis. Unfortunately despite several attempts to get it registered in Bulgaria they would not allow it. The end result I had to sell it for spares in Bulgaria yesterday to save taking it back to the UK. I won't try that again, got my fingers well burnt.

I can confirm the chassis number IS onthe side wall of the chassis near enough under the drivers door.
I found mine only by accident when I stripped the paint off my chassis. Quite a shallow stamping so easily lost under paint never mind years of mud rust and underseal :augie
