The pesky load sensing valve that was fitted to earlier Terranos and dropped by Nissan around 2000 ish but not 100% sure on year. I know it is supposed to work when you are carrying a heavy load. They have a nasty habbit of seizing up and not actually causing a noticeable problem until MOT tester fails it.

Just out of interest if it is totally removed will it cause a problem or will there only be a problem when when carrying a heavy load or even towing.

Did the later trucks without them have a different braking system? I do know the later models have bigger rear drums.

The LSV works by limiting the pressure to the rear brakes when under light load, by removing the valve the rear brakes get full pressure commensurate with how hard you hit the brake pedal, but as the rear brakes are poo anyway it makes little difference, Rick

So if it fails MOT is it worth removing and repiping?

Completely doing away with it just like a clutch damper pipe?

Yes bin it and all will be fine. There's an extensive thread on this not long ago. I think it was to do with brake pipe making or similar. I can't face a search but if you can then you will be loaded with info 😊
