Well today was my first real day with the T2.

took the mrs out for lunch, had to squeeze aroud packed country lanes and park on a bend.

Filled up for the portsmouth run, 35 ltr for 36.99 (1.04 per ltr) Did 185 miles and have over half a tank left, recon I used about 35 or more liter's.

REDEX 3.00 from asda, but forgot to put it in.

Replacment bulb for the RH side indicator, changed it but still not working. 1.50

so in total 41.49 for redex,185 miles and 2 bulbs.

Driving the T2 is like a wobbaley van. sat at about 65 70ish o the A30/31 and M27. Much better driving view. Gear chages seem a bit of an effort, still bouncing round like a learner?

still a bloody nice looking truck for the money..... be looking for an A bar next then ... bit of bling

shouldn't be bouncing though, these are well known for driving and handling like a car

cleaned the polo out today that gorgeous dog has got the longest hair Ive ever seen
you will have to put a pic on sometime:bow:bow:bow

Gear chages seem a bit of an effort..

Same with mine. I've found that you have to make a conscious effort to slot them in, rather than just point and shoot like a car. Is this normal for Terranos? I have to say that I do prefer it to my previous drives though.

Bling

Well i'll leave the bling till I have fiished trucking to portsmouth in july. As far as I know i'll only do a week at sea at the end of that month.

I was given a rear bar to fir its black so it will have to be colour coded. But its quite a lot of weight?

Also when I try to shut the sunroof I can never get it shut right, always making that rushing air noise?

Also where the hell do I put a roof rack? theres no slots or a gutter?

You may not be closing the sunroof properly. I thought mine was knackered at first.

The button (on mine anyway) isnt one push like the windows, but it is "one hold". Whatever position its open to press and hold the button to close, it will stop without you letting go once its seated. Dont be tempted to touch it again just check its ok looking going for a drive etc :thumb2

My thule roof bars clamp on the sides, pretty bloody tightly too. I'll take pics next time theyre on.

sun roof does occasionally make a bit of wind noise at speed....I think the external negative pressure slightly lifts it a bit and breaks the seal (round 70 I recall) - but shut the blind and you usually can't hear it! :augie:lol

Just check its not leaking and that the drains are clear (threads on here if you search).

drain pipes are in teh download section

drain pipes? lost me there

Still lost o the roof bars, in my original thread "T2 is here" the first pic shows the truck, no gutter or grooves for rails? where will the rods go?

Just reading about the "engine will rev but" thread going on, and pointing towards the MAF issue, i'm going to unplug mine see if theres a diffrence can't say I feel the turbo effect in mine.

I had one go on my A4 and it was gradule so only picked it up on a scan with my pc.

But that was a 40 ebay job.

Look at Thule roofbars on Google....you buy the bars seperately then the feet, which have large rubber pads that sit on the roof, while a smaller clamp reaches round and clips under the edge of the roof over the top of the door seal. then you rotate the fittings in the end of the bar to tighten the clamp down. very effective and, if you buy Thule, very strong. I've carried huge amounts of timber and other stuff on them with no problem.

roof bars!

No MAF is fine, turbo doig its stuff.

So those roof bars, clamp down ad o and the clamps o the side bite I to the door rubber as well?

dan has a swb too so thule bars wont fit with the lack of rear doors

best option is the standard bars fit yourself....

laymans terms

go on col give it to me in basics, you know I live in devon!

its really quite easy.

first you need the allen key, its one with the ball on the end.
then you pop down the breakers and pull some off some wreck. with your new allen key

then re fit to yours using riv nuts.... but if drilling holes in your roof worries you, dont worry team wales are quite good at it.

i did mine the wrong way to create a light bar pete put long ones on his

you could if you wanted put shorter ones on yours for the safari look

the hard bit is getting an allen key. pete has one. oh and mustering up the balls to drill holes in your roof. once your over that it takes an hour or 2 to fit

or wait till you come here and we will do it for you.... its lots easier drilling someone else's roof

cant think why though:naughty:naughty:naughty

Holes in roof, easy:cool: I've got lots:lol
Just pop round my drill is always charged:thumbs
Masking tape:D

think I will pop down the scrappies this weeked (the dog loves it!) obtain my self some roof rail's/bars ad a ew air con control unit for the a4(15 quid)

I think I would rather have then going across (left to right) in sted of frot to back, as it would be easyer to wack the rods on and I could whack some lights on! just like the a-team!

that way then ?

While you're at the scrappy check out the position on the inside of the roof of the reinforcing structures are and wires etc:augie

svo Vs dino fuel

Because I live in north devon, we don't have a macro or anything similar, and the average price of rape seed oil is about 98p per ltr (asda, morrisons etc) is it really worth the hassel of buying bottles and decanting them in to the tank?
