Lacroupade where do you live then? Only bought the truck for the winter really. Dont mind having a play on any non damaging stuff. Dont want to fill it with muddy water or knocklumps off it. Did that to my last 4x4 (SWB landcruiser, no LSD but good offroad)

Well let me set your mind at rest.

I have two T2s, wifey drives a 99 plate (last of the MkIIs) and I have an 02 MkIV in good nick, standard truck apart from the sie steps removed and I like to look after it (relatively speaking of course, they have to work for a living don't they!).

SF can easily be done in a standard truck without incurring damage (unless you count the odd fir tree branch swishing on your aerial!)- makeitfit has even done it with his towbar on which was a bit of a drag (!) but its still nicely challenging. And its a fantastic route scenically - very isolated and beautiful.

I'm in Oxfordshire during much of the week cos of work - have a house in Culham village near Abingdon, but weekends is home with wifey in a cottage on the banks of the Tywi about two miles north of Llandovery.

You carn,t beat Sunday lunch in the west end cafe. Up around there very regularly on the road bikes. S/f sounds good. Can you do it on road tyres? I got new A/T on the back but just road tyres on the front. Would be interested in doing that at some point though. There is always enduro bikes, quads or off roaders in Llandovery on Sundays. It gets the juices going. Tony.

Never had a 4x4 with a LSD till I bought the Mav, and I gotta say its the best truck for snow and ice i've had. (several Suzukis and Daihatsus owned before)
I even dragged a fully loaded transit up a steep icy incline last week and got it out first attempt, I was well impressed! Also hardly used 4x4 in the snow as I find its fantastic even in 2wd. The LSD really does make a difference! :thumb2

You can do most of the lanes in a standard 4x4 no matter what tyres are on :thumbs

As already said, you just plough if you have a tow bar NO DAMAGE & be carefull on rocks if you have side steps & with a spotter its easy 7 again NO DAMAGE :thumbs

Come play with me & Pete on the 31st.! You'll love it :D & i always have a spare seat if you dont want to risk it :thumbs

Know it well - place is always heaving in the summer....if you've biked up to Llyn Briane as you must have, you'll have driven past my place - everyone else does as its en route to Rhandirmwyn, the reservoir and the hills north up towards LLandewi Brefi....:augie

ADZ "COME PLAY WITH ME AND PETE" my mam told me about blokes like you. LOL, if I can mod my towbar and scab 2 tyres for the front I will hopefully join you. Any suggestions on the towbar mod anyone.
