I have decided by treat myself for the month will be a small purchase of some sort of fog lights or similar. Question is where and how do i mount?

Want to spend as little as possible too :lol

Alex if you didn't know you have front fog lights already there built into the headlights next to the grill:thumbs you can get small spot lights that can be fitted into the bumper either side of the front number plate on the MK4 T2

what for though? fog lights are intended to lightup a wider closer space.
the ones supplied suffice for that job.

Ive got updated headlights. Still pants, fogs :kissyare like candles rubbish too...

I want super bright :lol

Like night becomes day "flick"

Easy slap 4 spot lights on your roof:augie had 4 on roof & 2 spots on bumper coming back from Scotland one night in bad weather had all the lights on, some guy in a Merc go's to over take me so switched my spots off when he got along side me & the guy hit the brakes & tucked back in behind me as it went all dark (no moon that night) & could see the road better behind me:lol or you could fit a LED light bar like Lazy Ferret has

I got 6 on my roof.
when there on I have to pull me sun visor down:D

dunner do xenon. they are horrible for oncoming drivers

+1:thumbs hardly anyone around me has them in now unless factory fitted as the Police have been handing out fines for them:augie but there was someone on here who took their xenon bulbs out & put back in their night breaker bulbs & found them to be better:lol

Thanks for all the input guys, I'm gonna go with 4 spot lights, great idea. Wiring will be taken care of by my work hopefully :augie

Silly question no 2 coming up :naughty

How do i Fit them? Ive got no roof bars ect

:bow:bow

You could do it the way exosteve has or buy the clamp on roof bars & mount the lights that way

I would save a bit more up, and go straight to LED.... I still have a silly smile on my face when I flick up to Main Beam, and the Light bar comes on...

Best quality 55w Halogen just tip the 1000 lumen, my light bar does 19200lm.

If you do not like the "Bar" style, go for the smaller spot light style ones, not quite as high in the Lumen output, but 4 of them would still be pretty good, and any one light would have over twice the light out put of a halogen one, and still use less current.

Mounting is easy.... just use the old gutter style roof rack mounted over the windscreen as Richo shows in one of his early posts... Means you still have the roof bars free to use when needed.

Second issue, I have no roof bars?

Maybe exosteve will be kind enough to make me a clamp :augie :kissy
