If you have a trailer socket on the back it could be whats at fault and blowing fuses.
Bad connections in trailer socket caused issues with the lights on my truck... One of the wired was chafed through.

My daughter's L200 had this problem. Rear RH ind. came on with side lights, couldn't find any fault but remade skt. connections anyway & all was OK ....for a week.
Then noticed LH side light fuse had blown so replaced it....RH fuse then blew aaaarrrrrggggghhhh!.
Still no obvious fault(s) but changed the skt (car only 2yo!) for a new one & all is well (everything now crossed that it stays OK LOL). Don’t think the original skt had ever been used, but it was original fit by Mitsubishi agent.
I'm in the habit of replacing towing skts about every 5 years anyway, they’re cheap enough & it's much less trouble than chasing faults.
Tips worth following: don't fit an extra cover as this will be even more likely to hold water than a std. well-fitting skt. spring-loaded cover. Make sure that water can exit at the bottom (drill a 3mm hole if necessary). If you traverse floods then set the skt above the expected level! Obvious? It is now LOL.
