I want to get my Patrol raised, probably by 4". So far it seems to be either Old Man Emu or Pedders as the 2 options. Both do a kit for the Patrol. Any advice on the choice?
Also are there any problems with using these on a road car. The OME kit is sold as "competition use only" in Australia and can not be used on road. I don't think that is the same here.

In Aus for comp use only just means there's no approved engineering report for it. Do what you like here as long as you tell your ins co. :thumbs
I have Pedders on mine simply because I got more help from them as a company. OME were rather up themselves I thought, and more expensive :nenau
The only issue I've found with my Pedders is the paint finish on the springs is awful  I'm getting them powder coated soon instead

So now had the suspension lifted. Went for the 4" OME kit. Having decided this was beyond me, I had it done by Devon 4x4. Gone the whole hog and had a bumper, winch and snorkel done at the same time. Increased the value of the car about 3 fold :augie Mind you, adding the club sticker before the work must have added significantly to the vaue. :lol

Nice neat job, bet that cost a lot for someone else to do it didnt it but looks well for it.

Love it love it love it :clap:clap

Only thing now as mentioned is bad boy wheels.

Patrolman should be able to sort you out, he had about 15 sets of em :augie

Looking good mate :thumb2

I'm sure Devon 4x4 will have done it as part of the lift but can I suggest you just check they've fitted a bracket to adjust the brake bias valve for the new suspension height.

Check my project thread for details - just needs a quick check of the back axle looking from the rear.

Thanks for the tip. I will go and investigate in the morning. The pictures show it well.

Had a look underneath and sure enough I have a fine new bracket. :thumbs

Thanks again for the advice

They even raised the brake line where it splits a bit too :)

And adjustable top links :thumbs :thumbs

No bother bud - just wanted to check as I'd heard some of the Aus guys had found brackets weren't always fitted when they had their lifts done (in one case by ARB themselves!)

Looks a really good job :thumb2

Also interesting to see it looks like they did the same thing I did ie. make their own extension bracket :D

It seems the modifications need to go further. Went over some fields yesterday, pulling the big trailer. Didn't ground anything with the 4" lift and I was so impressed I didn't see the patch of wet, soft Essex clay, and sank straight into it
The BFG A/T's became slicks and it took 2 hours and 4 goes with the winch (the nearest object was a small tree about 50 yards away and the rope I extended the winch line with broke 3 times) to get myself out and then get me and the trailer back to the solid ground.

Looks like the A/T's will need to be changed to M/T's sooner than planned, although I am not sure they would have done it either. Land anchor and bigger rope already on order!! :thumbs

A bigger susp lift only really increases attack, breakover and depart angles. The axles will still be the same height.

I did wonder if you were planning on staying on the same size tyres for such an extreme lift.

Letting down the tyre pressures would of helped too. How much? who knows ha
