I know a few of you's have fitted LED light bars & was wondering how they are holding up are all the LED's still working & are they still as bright as when you fitted them ? Reason i'm asking is i've made up some 3mm thick steel brackets to mount some spotlights above the front bumper but might go for a 20-22" light bar if there is enough clearance so I was wondering if someone could kindly measure from the centre mounting point on the bracket to the rear of the light bar for me:thumb2

Many thanks Madmark the pic's are perfect:clap will have a measure up now:augie

MADMARK, what make are your lightbars?

I like the look of them.

Hope this helps. Any questions my mobile 07769154840

Omg, you'd best remove your mobile number from here, loads of spammers just waiting to clone your details and set up a duplicate account :augie in fact using pictures you have posted its possible someone could figure out where you keep your valuables at night :augie

Don't know how to delete it

My light bars are just the ones on ebay £110 delivered. I did have 3 less drop out. So I got in contact with the seller and they sent me the replacement leds so just gotta fit them or they'd have to send it back to manufacturer. Which I didn't wanna do as would leave holes in my roof mid winter

It might only be one LED that has actually gone, as several are wired in series.
I assume the three are next to each other...:nenau
If so, looks like three are wired in series.

To test which one has failed, with the power on, you can either measure the voltage across the failed LEDs the ones out and not working will not show a voltage, but the failed one should show over 6 volts.

OR take a replacement LED, the right way around, place it across the failed led terminals, when the replacement lights up... you have located the failed LED, the other two should now light too.
So keep the other pair as spares.

Take care testing like this, as one slip with the power on, could blow a fuse, or burn out a track.

Don't forget when you put a meter across LEDs to test they will only allow electricity from your meter to flow one way around so don't assume that it's duff as soon as you test it. Place the meter probes both ways to prove the led is duff.

As for your phone number send a pm to banshee as he should have the admin rights to delete your number for you. Also don't forget your post has been quoted so needs deleting twice.

Cheers bud will have a go but its three in a row that are dim they haven't fully gone. Haven't done anything about it yet but when I get a quiet few hours lol ill have a go

Well measured up to day & not going to have the clearance for a light bar:doh, could make up longer brackets but the light bar would sit well past the front bumper which I don't really want & I think it would vibrate to much as they are only 3mm steel brackets so it looks as if i'll be going for some spotlights prob 7" rally giants but might change the bulbs in time to either SMD or Cree LED's
