leaky sump

hopefully my last problem to sort on the blessed truck is the leaky sump.
Its leaking around bottom seam near drain plug, basically looks like its rotted!
From quick look it appears enging out job, or am i missing a 'cheat' somewhere and it can sty in place?

you can just get the sump off, by removing the front diff, but you will need to remove this anyway to get the engine out, so yes it is possible, not sure if anything else had to come off, but Swifty did a TDi here a little while ago but I did not get under the motor to see what he did, bad back at the time, Rick

Hi i had the same problem new sump £300ish labour £300ish took them 10 hrs to remove and re place diff, ow and £42 for nissan sealnt to seal new sump to engine!!!!!!!!!! but the moter is good now roy

rick and swifty took my engine out/diff off and replaced my clutch in half that time and cost, god bless them both


how are you rick ? did you find another disco for your daughter?

Should have bought a landrover that much oil thrown about you dont get sump rot:lol I know i have had lots over the years, if thers no oil under it its not a landy.
must admit my Terrano is relible laurieash i

hi , my terrano `s sump was leaking and as i`m not loaded and was told it takes a lot of labour to replace , it got a good clean and had liquid metal put on it . that was 5 months ago and 5000 miles and it`s still spot on, £14 for liquid metal you`ll probably get told to remove all sorts of parts of your truck to remove the sump and get a new one but i just thought i`d tell you what i did.

yes she got herself another one, she is happy thats all that counts, and I am fine thanks although too much work at the mo, really need a good break but cant see it happening for a while, but then I only do on average a 4 hour day, but thats life, how are you getting on, well I hope, Rick
