late gearbox fault

Hello, not been about for ages, new retired life in France.
Got a late 2005 lwb 2.7 terrano, ex ministry of defence police car, only 70k when bought with fsh, in last year i have towed and driven lots and now at 98k, gearbox like others is making whine in 3rd and 5th so bearings shot, i understand that Nissan realised fault and recommended fill gearbox with quantity of oil from gearstick hole not fill hole! also on aussi websites said not to tow in 5th.

Anyone know what will fit? I am happy to rebuild box myself with new bearings but cant have car off road, any idea if an early navara box will fit? Rebuild kit is the same, happy to swap bellhousing etc. Will pre 2001 box’s fit, someone gone down this route before?

Do not know about later ones but earlier the bell housing is integral with the box so cannot change it, Rick

just read manual and shows it is a FS5R30A gearbox, if correct that is a navara d22 gearbox, again manual shows split of bell housing but until i get under i cant be sure, but fancy a later box off a navara as cheeper, cant see nissan making that much of a differance?

or does the gear block fit in back of bell housing, is that what is shown in manual? looks like gear train pulls out from back after gear housing removed?

d22 changed in 2002, defo engine and prob box?
