No limp mode no faults. Just gutless. Will get a few pics tomorrow. I've sourced a lift pump from a breaker. If you think it's under fueling why is it ok in first and second surely it delivers the same amount of fuel at 3000 revs in lower gears as it would high gears......or not??:doh

no you pull more fuel at say 3000 revs with your foot down in higher gears as the engine is working harder,than in the lower gears, Rick

Thank you. Do you think it could be pulling air through the dodgy lift pump if so would that explain my symptoms.

Does the ZD30 have a lift pump on the side of the block then driven by the cam similar to the 200/300TDi Landies then?
 
When I got my 3.0, the flexi joint was in half and I could not tell the difference in noise or power once I had fitted a new exhaust section. But fit a new section and see, it may be the cause.
When you fit your Nissan LP, if it doesn't make a difference, try another new fuel filter, just to make sure it's not blocked.... as mine was :thumb2
