hi all I have got a knock coming up threw the steering when weight gets transferred on and off the drivers front wheel . plus the last tyre that was on it was worn bad on the inside when I brought it . I have done the upper and lower ball joints / drop links / arb bushes / and track rod ends . plus I have checked the wheel bearings . I need help . it happens if I got the wheel turned and brakes and when I go over uneven road. you can hear and feel the knock

how tight are you turning?

not that tight . its not the steering stops
where I live is on a hill on a corner so I drive up start to turn then stop and reverse it back to a stop so it faces down hill . the only other thing I forgot to mention is that it feels notchy when im turning from drives front side

Item 15
This notchyness you speak of ? Can you just feel it or hear it? Have you just changed to bigger tyres maybe ?

feel it . it feels like it coming from the front drivers side. but the knock when the weight transfers off of it you can hear and feel it threw the steering wheel but sound comes from the driver side and no standard 235/70/16 on it

Given all the bits you've changed the only thing that makes sense is the comp bush.
However the notchy feel could be the CV on the way out or your auto hub isn't releasing properly.
For a quick test, undo the auto hub and do your drive manouver again. See what happens.

when I brought it and took the auto hub off . there was the drive shaft circlip missing and the two washers in there was missing . on both sides . but the notchy feeling only happens at slower speeds when turning

Well that could be what you're hearing. The end of the shaft flapping about a bit.
Get some missing bits in there then you'll have 4x4 too :thumb2
Give Rick a shout :thumbs

I have replace the bits from Nissan and they wasn't cheap . I think it was just under £50 for 4 washers and 2 circlips . but it was doing it before that . that's why I replaced them . then I done the upper and lower ball joints and track rods /arb bushes and the droplinks but it still notchy . the knocking has only just started in the last month

OK but if the hub is not properly dissengaging you can have the drive shaft turning and there could be wear there. As a quick eliminator, just undo the auto hub and do your usual drive manouver. Only takes 5 mins:)
The comp bush could still be goosed of course !

I've got a set of Autohubs you can have for £30

ok thanks . I think the notching feeling and the knock are different . but I will try that when it dry's up outside . so you don't think it could be the upper spindle arm bushes ? for the knocking . I suppose the only bushes left are the compression and the spindle ones

Ah, now then , that is a point actually I forgot about those :augie
Easy enough to check but can be a mother of a job only because the nuts have probably been there since it was built.
Jack up the front so the wheel's off the floor and rock it top and bottom. Assuming your ball joints and bearing are still in good nick then you may notice movement in the top arm. Get a mate to have a look while you rock it.
If the bushes have gone do both sides and you'll need a torque wrench to rebuild :thumbs
Again, straight forward job but bigger nuts n bolts involved.

so is the suspension wishbone rod bush kit the compression rod bush? and where are the trailing arms too ? . are they on the rear and are the suspension wishbone bush upper the spindle link bushes from milners .

erm, no :augie
Suspension wishbone bush 2 per side , 4 in total. This bit http://www.milneroffroad.com/nissan...suspension-wishbone-bush-upper-genuine-part-1
Comp rod or "Lower wishbone rod" 2 per side, 4 in total . This bit http://www.milneroffroad.com/nissan...spension-wishbone-rod-bush-kit-1-side-lower-1

one bush each side of the chassis mount so 4 needed.
the chassis tends to rot behind the bush and the cupped washer cracks.

have you checked your wheel nuts:nenausome times it can be the daftest things that get overlooked.

yeah I have checked them today when I tried turning without the autohub on . but the notchy feeling is still there. but the knocking can't tell till I get it up .but that only happens when driving over rough ground or when the weight transfers off of it . I'm park on a hill and theirs only 1 flat spot and somebody been parked there all day
