Hi everyone
I have just got a Terrano P reg 2.7 and i have only got one keyfob for it.If i buy another fob can i get anyone and it will work? Or do i need the right frequency for the car? The fob i have got has markings on it so how can i tell what it is?

do a search, we have covered this a few times, also in the download section theres how to program it to your T2

If yours is the oval shape with a red and a black semi circle buttons on then replacement shouldn't be too bad. first of all there are two models, read the sticker on the back to get the freq. There's 418mhz and can't remember the other off hand. Should be able to get em from Ebay. They both program the same, check out the downloads with quick links. As Zippy says there are one or two previous threads on this.

have a look inside the battery cover, might be in there too

In the Terrano/Maverick section on the first page of threads in the Bodywork and Chassis Section there is a thread named "door lock problem". A bit down the thread daved gives a link to an e-bay auction for a terrano key fob. The auction is ended but if you look at the sellers items for sale you will see the key fob listed under nissan micra keyfob or something like that. Is your key fob like that one? The ebay seller says it does not need to be reprogrammed but it would be no harm checking if that's correct. Hope that's of some help.

Hog Roaster ... My Terrano has the combined key/fob , where you press the button on the key to unlock the truck.
If yours is this type , a complete blank key with central locking fob will cost you about forty quid on Ebay.
You will have to slide the fob off the key part and look to see whether the microchip in the key part is red or blue ( mine was RED) and let them know when ordering. When you get it you will first need to have the blank cut the same as your existing key ( about 6 quid) , then have the microchip "CLONED" to the existing one at a reputable locksmiths ( about 30 quid) and then follow the WORKSHOP DOWNLOAD 14 to get the fob to work your central locking. I would immagine that a seperate fob + key system would possibly be different.
If you PM me, I will send you the Ebay trader's info.
Matt.
