My key fob stopped working today, lock T2, went for cycle, came back and couldn't unlock it.

Still had red led flashing on the fob when I pressed the buttons, but changed the battery anyway. Can't get the thing programmed now.

Followed the download, but not getting flashing lights after turning ignition on and off 6 times, Am I supposed to be turning from completely off to glowplugs on and back 6 times within ten seconds? or have I been a daftie?

from off to on (when you get dash lights on) then back to off 6 times finish with off and remove key, if hazards do not flash has your room light fuse blown? Rick

You need to do it really quickly, 0-2, 6 times in 10 seconds, richtheracer showed me this the other night

The indicators will all flash a few times to indicate learning mode is active

Ok, been doing this as quickly as possible, still not getting the hazzards to flash. Interior light does work, so fuse not gone I don't think.

Is there anything different because this is a Mk1 T2? Simpler security system with a different method to reprogram?

Cheers.

From what I've read it's the same principle, just turn from 0-2 6 times in 10 seconds, I'll go and make a quick video for you

I was not aware the Mk 1 had remote locking, I have three (in various states) and none have it, Rick

Watch the vid, I turn it on and off 6 times, so thats from position 0 to position 2, 6 times in 10 seconds the hazards will flash to indicate that that the car is in learning mode, once the fob has been programmed turn the key once more to position 2 and back to 0 again and the hazards will flash once again to end the "learning" session

Here's the vid

Well done that man, excellent, it should go into the downloads but do not ask me how to do that, but I am sure someone will know, perhaps briggie, Rick

Excellent video, sadly that's what I'm doing and I don't get the hazzards to flash. One thought, while the central locking still works from the drivers door, I don't think the hazzards are flashing when I do that either - should they? Can't remember!

If not, maybe the problem isn't my fob, but the leccyness in the truck somewhere?

Do all the doors lock when you lock the drivers or is it just the drivers?

Yep, all close and lock fine - well now you mention it, I haven't gone and checked every door! Sounds like it does. Will need to pop out to the car park in a mo and check!

Ok, just checked and the central locking is working on all five doors - tad hard to get out afterwards though :lol

I'm not sure what's going on then, mine is a 96' and has central locking but is the mk2 ie round lights not square

Hmmm, this is very puzzling, any chance Rustic is about? Most likely Mk1 owner with the manual! Just in case a MK1 has different keyfob programming sequence.

Also, any one with a Mk1 able to check if the hazzards flash when you lock/unlock from inside the drivers door? Wondering if I have something on the inside not right.

Right, solved it! :thumb2

MK1 is NATS 1 and I don't think there's even a transponder in the key so tried an intensive Google therapy. Not sure if this is the correct way, but it worked for me :D

1) Unlock car using the drivers door power unlock

2) Press and hold both buttons on the remote for eight seconds until the LED goes solid red

3) Stick key in ignition and turn to the on position

4) Press key on remote (think I did the unlock one - heard a decisive clunk from the locking system at this point)

5) Remove key from ignition and try the buttons, lock/unlock back active again :clap

Will post up a pic of the fob in case that's also significant to anyone.

hopefully a piccy of the fob.

Great to know you solved this :), maybe you could write up a guide that could be added to the downloads section next to the facelift one?

my Mk 1s have a key transponder and will central lock from drivers door, but do not have a radio receiver for a plip, and as you say are NATs 1 (square headlight) my Mk 2s have receivers for plips and are NATs 2 which I can now confirm cannot be by passed, so do not do what I did and use the wrong key, 3 times tried to start then blocked me, £70 cost to have key reprogrammed to ecu, Rick
