I was wondering if the key fob reprogramming is the same for the later type of keys 2005 as it is for the earlier ones (1999) ? Just that my spare key which the wife has on her bunch of keys ended up in the washer after the Son put her coat in the washer & didn't take the keys out of the pocket after being told to do so:doh:doh Key will start the engine no probs but the remote won't unlock the doors but it had almost stopped working before it got washed as the battery was going flat. Have fitted a new battery

If the key has been through the washer it'll need more than a new battery to make it work :doh

Think Clivvy has messed about with this type of key with his new motor so he may be able to help.

Well the immobiliser chip is working fine which is the main thing but as soon as it came out of the washer I stripped the key & dried it on the radiator. Have dried out a couple of phones this way & luckily they still worked:augie

I've not heard any different, no harm in trying I suppose
You could always get another key and just swap the internals I suppose

Wow!!!!!! Hold your horses!!!!!!

What's wrong with yours, I'll do it for half Nissan's price :naughty

We'll get you fixed up for way less than that!!!

The truck only came with only one key I paid up front for a new one from Nissan and its booked in today at 1 pm. I had I auto lock smith out first but he could not get a key to work with the alarm.

Ah understood now :doh

You'll be having it done now anyway

ALL done new key works a treat:p I will give the wife the old one.

Pray she don't put it in the washer like mine did:doh never got around to replacing it yet the missus has to unlock it with the key & switch the alarm off but must go to a couple of local breaker as it's just the circuit board that needs replacing as the chip still works

I have 2 keys like yours, both worked fine in all departments, but now one won't lock/unlock the doors suddenly, it will start the car OK.
I did try the reprogramming, but no luck.
What's your trick then Clivvy :nenau
