key fob problem

Hi, happy new year and best wishes to everyone, I'm a new member and this is the first time I've posted, so please bear with me. I bought a Terrano mk 2 se 2.7tdi about a month ago, everything fine except the buttons on the Nats key fob require 3 or 4 hard pushes before they will work, and today the lock button has packed in completely, I can still use the un-lock button, or use the key manually, but no remote lock facility. I've had the battery out and tested it, it reads 3 volts, which is within spec. are the fob buttons just worn out? Do I need a replacement fob.
Any thoughts on this would be appreciated, cheers,

Hello hplprojeng and welcome.

It does really sound as if you need to replace the fob, I dont think that theres that much can go wrong with them as its only a button!,
I am sure that members have replaced them and i also think they may have got them of e-bay or maplins.

If you click on the search tab at the top of this page and put the word "fob" then that will find you all the posts with the word fob in,

Welcome to the club, do as mav says and look in the previous postings. May I also suggest you go back in to your account on the top of the home page and fill in your vehicle details, this will save everybody keep asking what model truck and what year it is. :smile:

As regards your key do you have the one which is part of the key or is it a seperate fob? if it is an all in one the you will be able to get one from ebay, I have done this in the past you will need to get your local Nissan dealer to reprogame the key. I do beleive that they require the key and the car for about 2hrs to do this my local Nissan garage charge about £30
