Put this here as it's a battery question

anyone know how I get the key apart to replace the battery for the light???

Is it a NATS key with the 2 soft buttons :?: If it is mine has a little slot on the back of the key, put a screwdriver into the slot & push down (carefully) & it should split the key part from the handset part  After that the handset part should open no probs & the battery should just flick out  I don't know if you've got to reprogram the handset though :?
Hope this may help

No Sweety it's just one of those sodding keys with a light.
Been playing with it forever (well it seems like it) coming close to meeting the bin!

Ok i'm guessing now  Is it like the keys you used to get on the ford granards, escort etc with a center button which when pressed light up the light by the key blade :?

At last I know the type  Please forgive me as it's been about 10 years since I had that type of key. You may need a small electric screwdriver to do it. The battery part/button slides out to the side of the key If I remember right the bulb will be on 1 side of the key blade, if it's on the say right pull the centre part to the right. Then you should be able to open it up  I just hope this makes sence to you paul

No don't do that, I think ford have stopped making them  The 1 off my capri was a right pig to get apart this is when the screw driver can help. You must be lucky as most of that type of key have no bulbs as they used to drop out all the time
If you get stuck post it to me & I'll get it open for you, but pray i'm having a good day or i'll used my grinder -rotfl- -rotfl- -rotfl-

If you realy want it to work try your local breakers as mine have a box of keys so they may swop or sell you the light part I think I payed a pound for my last 1 & it had a new battery in it  As I said earlier I think ford stopped doing them, but the price used to be stupid from ford if I remember right
