Ok i'm guessing now  Is it like the keys you used to get on the ford granards, escort etc with a center button which when pressed light up the light by the key blade :?
Sweety said:At last I know the type  Please forgive me as it's been about 10 years since I had that type of key. You may need a small electric screwdriver to do it. The battery part/button slides out to the side of the key If I remember right the bulb will be on 1 side of the key blade, if it's on the say right pull the centre part to the right. Then you should be able to open it up  I just hope this makes sence to you paul

No don't do that, I think ford have stopped making them  The 1 off my capri was a right pig to get apart this is when the screw driver can help. You must be lucky as most of that type of key have no bulbs as they used to drop out all the time
If you get stuck post it to me & I'll get it open for you, but pray i'm having a good day or i'll used my grinder -rotfl- -rotfl- -rotfl-
