I would not consider kero for a road going engine as the pressures are to high for adequate lubrication of not just the pump but the injectors, bear in mind the needle in the injector is a very precise machined element, it takes around 2000 psi to lift the needle from its seat with virtually no leakage past the needle in its bore, running on poor lubricating kero will accelerate wear on this important high temperature component leading to its early failure, Rick

Isn't kerosene heating oil? I think it Could work ok, not neat - but at the ratio stinka says, blended with 30% veg for the lube. The problem as far as I can tell, their is no amount of kerosene that can be used as road fuel in the UK, by law. Not even 1ml. I don't think you can even pay duty on it if you wanted to be above board.
Different countries have different laws.

I watched a vid on YouTube where the guy mixed kero and veg in a clear glass jug, it mixes to form a uniform liquid with no separation. Adding svo is going to be the same as adding 2 stroke oil to petrol on a 2 stroke engine, it will work as long as you are generous with the svo

The only issue is the legality, as if you are going to break the law in this manner you might as well run red ...

Saying that tho, the kero and veg mix won't show up if you get dipped ( like red would ) it won't look any different to veg/derv mix or biodiesel would ...

They will scurry off to the mobile Lab and computer will say Kerosene and Vegetable Oil... What they do then I don't know, You could say it was Bio, Where did yo buy it from? Receipt? :nenau

It's an interesting idea, was this guy American? Youtube link?

But yeh, if u get dipped they take it to the van and examine it with a spectrometer

Apparently kero has a yellow dye in it that they look for like the red dye they look for in red diesel

Locally kero is 72p per litre

So 40L of KTC veg is £35.98

And bang 20L of kero on top of that in tank is 35.98 + 14.40 = 50.38 for 60 litres in the tank meaning its about 84p per litre average

So basically not worth the risk to save hardly anything compared to just using veg

Or 40L of kero and 20L of veg averages at 77p so still not worth the risk

I'm sticking with straight KTC svo :)

kero can be used legally providing fuel duty is paid at the currant rate.
2500ltrs of wvo/bio can legally be used without fuel duty being paid,1ltr over that and you need to register at hmc and pay duty on all of it.
you must keep a record of oil used to show a record of your usage in case you are stopped.

i have recenlty put some diesel cleaner/additives in my van the main ingrediant is kerosene its fine as an additive but not as a road fuel

spectrometer? mobile lab? i think all these things are myths like the 'scraping your exhaust and testing for radioactive elements' I have been dipped several times and seen hundreds of vehicles dipped in the queues in front of me: squeezy bottle, if it's red your nicked if it's not you ain't! simple as that!

but i still wouldn't put kero in mine!

kero has a smell all of its own so easy to get pulled.
when i go past the law with my wvo smell there heads turn and look.

it does run on it as a combo of kerosene, svo, & deisel but no idea of what damage it may do if done regularly plus it is illegal. I only done it twice with bout 20ltr of k & 10 of svo & 10 of deisel.

Bio is now at about 85p so why bother.
Also the dipping is done visually on road side BUT a sample is also sent off for analysis. I know I've been dipped
