K&N air filter

ok, maybe silly question, but I will ask it anyway: how can I tell the difference between a K&N air filter and standard? I didnt fit the filter I have in now, but its dirty and needs replacing/cleaning, but its a dark red and looks like k&N, but not sure!! Any tell tale codes/stamps on the filter I can check for?

Is it the filter in the existing air box or an induction kit type?
Apic would simplify things

if it is a k&n filter, look on the rubber around the panel filter. it will have k&n printed on it somewhere. a standard one will have a nissan or replacement part no on the side.
