K&n air filter help

Hi all

I'm trying to find a filter for my 2004 2.7tdi terrano but all the ones I can find seem to only list to 2002 but the measurements look about right. Any one know a part number or got a link for a k&n filter for said vehicle?

The older ones, ie 2.7td, the filter is vertical, the later ones, 2.7 tdi isn't it horizontal?

The petrols & the early square head light models are different IIRC but from 1997 on the 2.7 & 3L used the same air filter:thumbs sure mine was sold as a 3L one fitted straight into the air box of my 55 plate 2.7 sadly they aren't listed on K&N's web site any more as they were discontinued a couple of years ago oh & the prices vary on ebay paid about £26 new for mine

I've got one on my 04 but to be honest it gets on me nerves as I can hear the air sucking when engine is under load.

Haven't heard a thing from both of the ones i've fitted to T2's if you've got the induction kit type then yes you will hear it breath you do with every induction kit on the market no matter what motor you have:augie In air box ones are quiet on 95% motors unless you drill the air box:lol

My terrano already sounds like a fat spooling tractor with a big bas**rd turbo whine! a bit of air sucking wont change much for me :lol.

I've still got a snork on my list :sly

Infact whilst I remember, we were house hunting the other day and we had to follow this estate agent to the next house in a golf, when we arrived he said "what the hell have you done to that 4x4 and what engine has it got" the old turbo hissing and echoing off the narrow roads, hehe.

Mine has got the cylinder air box, should it make this noise ? :thumb2

Just obtained my new K&N air filter(part no E-9251) £38.00 delivered, fleabay, so will fit on return home, I will be interested to observe differences.......also 3ltrs of the correct Castrol LSD oil to replace old oil.....going to be a busy morning as long as it doesn't rain!
