I'm looking for a bit of advice regarding the compatibility of one of these kits http://www.performance-filters.co.u...no-ii-27-diesel-199641998-570125_p1528451.htm for my 2001 Terrano 2.7TDI.

I am aware that there are different viewpoints regarding the fitting of these and any benefits gained from it, but I would be grateful if someone, who has fitted one of these, could take a look at the images below to let me know if it is compatible.

The reason I ask is because my T2 is a 2001, but I actually think it is a late registered one, as the exhaust is similar to that of one manufactured up to 1999.

Thanks for any help/advice given.

Alan

Indeed. Stock filter or K&N filter in the casing by with the inlet snorkel oval tube substantially enlarged. This is the restriction area.

Thanks for the replies guys,

So, and at the risk of my seeming a bit dim, can I buy and fit this to my car?

Regards

Alan

easy to do, takes 15 mins or so

I think the KanN instructions make it sound way more complicated than it is.
Zippy is correct in saying its a 15 minute job, its almost a like for like swap.
The KanN diagram is also a left hand drive truck as well, that why the servo is on the wrong side.

I have a 97 Maverick and my niece has an 03 Terrano, if you look under the bonnet, they both look the same, she has a different MAF though (As i wanted to swap it to see if mine was faulty) :naughty

air filter

this week i have mainly been having conversations with one of my clients about air filters and engines seeing as he is a nissan high performance tuner, sky lines and the like.

so the conclusion was the standard air box fitted with a k and n is better than the induction kit simply because the induction kit is mounted in the hot engine bay and hot air is not good for the engine.

the engine needs cold air opening up the intake is ok but as he pointed out manufactors spend millions developing these things for best performance even fitting a longer induction pipe will have a negative effect on the engine

and finnally he said air filters dont suck in air at all its air flow forced air threw the intake and air filter, dispite hearing a sucking noise.
