I so want one of these...

I love the first one, the pleasure of both an estate and a pickup... I can have the ferrets in the back of the aircon'd car, and all the junk in the pick up out the way.

I dread to think how much one would cost... I think MakeitFit should turn the Black Pearl into a 6x6 T2...:lol

There's a 6x6 mk3 Ford Transit a few doors up from me :doh :lol

6x6 implies all wheels driven, so how do they get the drive to the third axle ?

With a prop shaft:lol
To be honest I don't really know, I assume that the first axle in the rear has a straight through shaft into the second axle.

that would be the normal way of doing it

These six wheel conversions are not 6x6, they are 6x4, they're designed to increase load and towing capacity rather than traction. The third axle is a "lazy axle", i.e. not driven, a bit like the TACR2 Range Rover fire appliances.

Still look the mutts!

If you look at the first picture, it says it is a 6x6 on the reg.

Here is a vintage video of an older one... Drives a bit like a twat though.

maybe as a sixer or not I wish manufactures would offer a larger 7 seater based on
a crewcab frame, so think potentially a 9 seater or 7 seater pathy with decent boot
on a a nav frame.

could convert the bed of some of the pickups with a roof and roll bar to 4 seats on
top of existing 5 in cab though body flex might become an issue.

on subject of 6 wheel conversions, noting one of pix says pro converted? on spare,

several years back used to subscribe to us 4x4 mag fourwheeler.

some were giving their chevy n gmc station wagons, suburbans, think regular 8foot bed
bed fullsize pickup as 9 seater 5 door estate, twin rear wheel conversions for trailer
towing stability just as found on the heavier duty pickups used for slide in campers and
fifth wheel trailers.

the extra wheel and tyre (tire !) bolting onto existing but with deep dished 'twin' rims
oh and big arch flares.

yanks run much heavier nose weights and weight equalising hitches (stabilizers) to
help reduce the nose i think, though not sure how this works.

thinking ultimately truck can only carry so much (nose) weight.

made for very wide trucks maybe T2 would look like been hot rodded?
