I can't see it being electrical.....its only a split second when it happens and wet electrics would be longer term......I still favour a bit too much water vapour in the air inlet.

hmm...good point. I wonder if its an idea to actually remove the entire air inlet right back to MAF, and clean it etc? perhaps mastermind some sort of protection at the inlet opening to stop water gushing in?

If the nearside inner wheel arch cover is loose or damaged, splash water could go directly into the air intake as a fine mist.
Could be worth checking..

I had this happen to me today, took the truck out green laning alday, it was fantastic. Then on the drive home (Raining) i was on a bypass douing about 60 mph and for no reason it sort of cut out 3 times for no reason (Felt like i had hit the brake as it pulled back) i slowed it down to about 50 and did another 5 miles home and it was fine. strange??? if you find the cause, please let me know.

Yes i would definitly agree i didnt have any of the probs on my old mav, i only got the tdi because hrh said she wanted aprettier car so i liked the mav so much i thought i was being clever [ i should have known better] so now i,m in the middle of retro fitting a mech fuel pump, with lots of good advice off timbo and co that has helped me a great deal, this is a great club to be a part of. Well i had my grand son all weekend so work begins anew on the morrow.

put a snorkel on, mine feels like it gains power when it rains.
