As I have posted the strange vibration from what feels like the front end of our Jeep Grand Cherokee WJ has been diagnosed as being a fault in the Transfer Box.
I was told to get a second opinion - not charged for the diagnosis that consisted of removing the front drive shaft - that apparently removed most but not all of the vibration.
The vibration is noticeable at around 65 mph and upwards getting worse the faster I go. I know nothing about transfer boxes. I would expect it to make some sort of noise or whine if it was failing, it appears that the box is purely mechanical with no electronics.
Has anyone here had transfer box issues and how did they come to light?
