My pal is on his second one, although the first one didn't run to well after he filled it with petrol and didn't realise it until he got home! regards bri

lol err ok !

Think will sort a test drive and see what they are like

heard they were quite good but the only one i have met got stuck parking up at brier :lol:lol:lol:lol:lol:lol

Cheap to buy could be a credit card killer to keep (petrol/age/mileage).

Having said that, Ive found our local jeep dealers to be excellent. Prices are pleasantly sensible for dealer only parts and the quality of service is is 6 stars out of 5. Only problem is they dont carry that much so its an overnighter vor from the factory (no extra cost) which is frustrating but so far no probs and the factory has had everything Ive needed. Mind you I would think in this day and age most dealers will be working similar :nenau

I dont know exactly when G Cherokee production moved to Austria for the european market (end of the 90's early 2000's next shape on from that one if I recall) but its generally acknowledged thats when the hit and miss quality control was sussed and people who've had them throughout the years reported an improvement :thumb2

You may find the cherokee a bit cramped after the terrano. G cherokee different ball game.

Model to choose depends on your budget. Any car can be a cracker if its the right price.

Avoid the old 3 litre diesel it was bollox go 2.7 if you want diesel. G cherokees frighten people off because they perceive them as expensive to run so go for a cherokee. Therfore (certainly when I got mine) cherokee price higher then the grand :nenau no brainer when they have shed loads of parts in common :lol

In fact after praising our local dealers theyve just rang me to say my brake pipe is in. I ordered it yesterday lunchtime and its in. Cant beat that.

Even better its an odd one with hose swaged onto pipe in two separate runs, a local bloke reckoned he could make one for around £40-50 all in but wasnt sure about how he'd do the funny little mounting bracket. Jeep sold me the pucka one for £48 :thumb2:thumb2:thumb2:thumb2:thumb2

Oi checky fecker... its only stuck if you need a tow, I just lost forwards traction :p

And what were your last words before I roared out of the car park... "you'll never get out of there"

HAHAHA!

And when I replace the road tread tyres that are on it we'll see if the Maverick can keep up... :clap

Oh and get a LPG gas 4.0... I'm currently still on my first tank of gas and have topped 120 miles so far! (£35 to fill)
I dont think that is bad at all for a four litre auto yank tank

Bloody good in fact whilst you watch lesser 4x4s in your mirror :augie :D

Oh definitely!

I am a pimp now! A pimp with a flat cap :D

And I tell you what, even if it was really expensive to run, i'd still be happy as the sound alone is worth every penny.

4.0 straight six on a stainless system VS 2.4 4 pot with a farty manifold...

IM CURRENTLY IN LOVE :D

Well Richard, i'd say Cherokee owners love their motors :thumb2

Have to be honest, the only car im really intersted in swapping mine for is a newer one at some stage. Ive even got the brochure for the current model so ive got the info in 3 or 4 years time if I go for it ;) how anoraky is that :lol:lol

Thats serious stuff dave, think you need a smooth sharp harp at the local before they drag you in to the quiz team. Only yesterday whilst filling up at the petrol station a guy in a 4.0 litre fired his up and I did think hey that sounds a little burbbly, good sound, as for the jeep mark they seem to have got their act together now and do need serious consideration. :thumbs :thumbs

For the first time in years a big grin appears on my face when I step in the motor... and thats before i've turned the key! Never really had that from a 4x4 on the road
