Hi,
I've been asked to try and promote JAE to the 4x4 communities http://www.japcarclub.org

I noticed there was a thread about last years event but didn't seem very popular, maybe due to lack of notice?

It is a very well organised Japanese car show that I have been attending since 2007, last year I was one of the traders too.

To try and entice the 4x4's, there is a very strong possibility of a purpose built off-road course if there is enough interest.

This year it will be held a new venue, Newark Showground, as the old venues that have been previously used have been outgrown by the show.

The dates are 10th - 13th September.

I will be attending again as well as a couple of family members in their Terranos. It would be nice to try and organise a club stand if there is interest.

Who are the club reps?

Cheers,
Shaun.

Unfortunately they are quite strict with non-Japanese makes, so unless your Maverick is fully de-badged, you may have to park in the non-Japanese section

I know there doesn't seem to be much interest in this, but I've just received confirmation that the off road course is now sorted and will be free to use once you've paid the show entry fee (see link above).

I posted on here a year or so.About this japcar club.Got limited response.

I wouldn't debadge mine...
It is Japanese, every one knows it, so why even consider doing it?
Surely better to promote it... "Ford chose a Japanese motor to fill a gap in their market":thumb2:thumb2

I could get some post it notes and stick it over the Ford badges, 1 front, 1 rear, 1 on steering wheel, oh 5 wheel centres have "Ford" on them too, then there's the Ford logo on the radio....:doh
Oh... do I have to cover the name "Maverick" too ? :lol
Rear door, mud flaps and rubber mats then...?

Now have I missed any lol...:lol

about 4 hours for me, like to look at the off road track, could consider bringing the off roader for some fun, make a long week end of it, need more info, any links? Rick

sorry missed the link in the first post, had a look but need more info on the of road bit, Rick

Around a 6 hour drive for me and I'm already heading down for the Peak laning weekend in May and then the Wales 2015 weekend (don't know the dates yet but I'm not gonna miss it if I have anything to do with it! :lol).

Would have been interested if it hadn't been so far.

I missed last years as it fell while I was away on holiday.
About an hours drive from me:thumb2
I would be up for a club stand but I would probably only be able to go the sat/Sunday.
Will have to run it by the gaffer and see what she thinks:thumb2

like the sound of Newark less tan an hour for me.

think the original club had a stand one year back in days of founder
shark1e and mav.

any camping options, link to event.?

I guess about 5 1/2 hours for me in the Trol, so the offroad track needs to be worth it.

shark1e.Seen that name in the downloads somewhere.

I'll message the organiser to ask about mavricks and try and get some more info on the off road course.
Camping is available on club stands, so you camp near your vehicle.
There are cheaper ticket options for doing less days too now.

I would be up for a couple of nights camping, problem is the kids start back to school that week so won't be able to do the whole 4 days.probably turn up Friday afternoon/ evening and leave on the Sunday evening.
Where abouts in Derbyshire are you swiper?
I'm in Alfreton.

I don't like the organisers already  Why not a Maverick ? Twonks :doh

Right... not even going to make it onto my... "Might consider this list... "

The car is still Japanese, made at the same factory, mind you, it was built in Spain, like the Terranos, so as the Terranos are in fact "European" are they excluded then? :augie :augie
