It is that time of the year again for me to pay my subscription to this helpful forum.

Unfortunately I am encountering some issues with my Anti-virus (Kaspersky) not allowing me to follow the link from the subscription page to paypal.

I have tried to email the administrator but as of yet no reply is forthcoming.

Any suggestions?

or none of the above, I'm not a bog fan of any antivirus software as they all have one thing in common, they are all resource hungry and simply slow machines down, if thats not a issue then Fez uk reply will suit you fine

Most viruses don't just appear from anyware they require some form of activation, I dealt with plenty of viruses over the years, some while running virus software so proving to myself that they don't actually work and convincing myself even more that the viruses actually originate from the programmers that create the antivirus software to clean them

Now security systems are better on the newer operating systems and email security is much tighter on mail servers making it even hard to get a virus via email

its just one of those things where the general public have been scared into buying something they probably don't need

I also realise that someones area of knowledge may cause panic for others so there is no right or wrong its what ever you feel comfortable with.

solarman really has hit the nail on the head, if i was to pass on any real world valuable advice for anyone it would be to backup anything that is important to you to 2 different sources as running a antivirus may protect you from the odd virus, backing up your data will protect you from viruses, software failure, hardware failure and human error
