Any Isle of Wight off-roaders here? I'd love to meet up and have a pint some time.

Brian :)

Hi mate,

Well I am Isle on the Wight and I think we must be quite close to each other. I am sure I have seen your truck on my travels too and from Cowes although without that spare wheel cover it is harder to tell :lol
Sadly I can't risk my truck off road at the moment as it is needed for Cumbria, Lake District and Devon trips in the near future. However more than up for a pint and a chat as and when :thumb2

Great, how about sometime next week? Kingston Arms?

Fair play lads!!! Repping the Isle of Wight, that's not a bad number given the size of the island :thumb2

Sounds good to me. Kingston Arms is only a 10 min walk there and a 20min
stumble back from my house. Have not been in there for a while though, is it still trading?

Will send you a PM tomorrow :thumb2

Yes, they haven't stopped. I'll be off saturday, as next weeks rota has changed so I now have no days off next week, not sure about after next week.

Hi,

Not too sure of BOATs on the island. I know driving around the island see signs prohibiting the use of some rather interesting looking lanes.

Here is a link to a 4x4 club on the island. Have not really come across them but from what I have heard they are a nice group of people. They claim to do green laning so should be up together with what's out there.

I will have a look on the council website and a few others and see what I can dig up. There has got to be something out there !!!!

Nice one, cheers. There are plenty clearly marked as BOATs on memory maps which is just a electronic version of o/s maps, I'll have a dig, if the lanes offer a good amount of entertainment I may organise a meet, try and get some peeps over and boost the tourist industry :thumb2

Hi,

A quick look on Youtube for Green Laning on the IoW brings up Dacia Dusters Explorers UK and this guy Adam who seems to of filmed quite a few on the Island. Not suggesting anyone should go out based solely on a Video without further checks on maps, council website, Temporary Closures etc. But the Videos do give a taste of what is possibly out there.
