You can now check when your MOT and road tax is due on your vehicle at...

https://www.vehicleenquiry.service.gov.uk

You only need reg No and vehicle type.
So I checked mine... as you do.. all ok...:augie

I also checked another member on here, and his MOT is due on 6th January 2015
Now I thought it was much later than this.

So that person can now put his truck in for the MOT now, a month early, and still keep the original date.

So who is this person? not fair to say..
But we'll find out soon if those ******* are legal...:augie

Now with those facility... you can check out other cars too, the one that cut you up at those traffic lights...

So best not to advertise your reg No. in your pics after all is it.?:doh
Mind you, better a friendly reminder like this one, than a pull by the Police a week after New Year.:thumb2
Uncle Rustic...:augie

Why not, check my tax or mot I don't mind or care :)

same here,im legal.:thumb2
just tired the wifes motor which is sorn at the moment and no mot and it cant find it.:nenau

It would be good on a forum like this if you could enter your Tax and MOT date and it would send you a reminder PM a few days before it expires. Bit like the birthday email. :)

OH GOD IT IS ME!!! PANIC!!

I was trying to be subtle, I thought you might have missed it, I was under the impression it was around February or March, putting 2 and 2 together from earlier posts.

Well, you have nearly a month, and you can get Christmas out of the way.
Chance to pick up those old bumpers from Ricks... just in case.:augie

Just put in my old LWB Shogun (M551 DVL for anyone that's interested) and it's given a strange one...

Taxed until September 2015 but MOT expired 05 August 2013

My mot is out:eek: and my tax is due:eek:.
Its due a retest maybe Friday.and I may have to take the taxman's offer of pay monthly at this time of year.
Oh and my insurance renewal is due on new years day:(.
I want my mods declared but its difficult to find anyone.(only had quick glance so far)
Trouble is. If I change insurer they usually want a fair size deposit.
Where as stick with your own they put price up a lot but no big deposit upfront to encourage you to stay.
Its horrible for all three to be due at this time of year:(

Just checked the status of my last T2 & it's still on the road:clap Tax May & MOT is now August instead of it being in May:augie

Oh blooming heck - another reason to be paranoid :D

Although so much hassle getting Terry taxed from the old owner - tried to tax him, and it said he wasn't due til next oct. Got in touch with the old owner, who still hasn't sent me the log book  and he said he's going to keep him taxed til the end of Dec then I can take over.

Seriously, is this easier than the old way? Just hassle imo

I'd be getting in touch with the DVLA & letting them know you own it as I can't understand why the old owner is wanting to hold onto the log book (legally it's yours) & keep your motor taxed:nenau under the new system DVLA would have refunded him any unused tax I know it means you would have to pay out but even so seems a bit strange to me

I tried to phone today, but gave up when I was tenth in the queue - tomorrow!

Yes, according to their website, I'm taxed til oct next year

Not quite legally the old owner is but your not:doh If you've got the new owner slip of the logbook it'll have the logbook number on I think & if the old owner is being a prat you should be able to request a new logbook for the motor & just explain the last owner is refusing to send it off or give you it
