I have said it before if it's good enough and your willing to pay the price..then it is worth it.

I own....
Land Cruiser very nice motor mine has everything on it that if your experience allowed you could get most places [and back] but cost of spares is expensive eg front brake caliper £350+ yes I know milners do em...but they do not always fit as they should.
positive side is being in 4 all of the time, I rarely have to touch my little knob [ooower] Very good economy also.

I did own

Terrano SWB very good, put decent ATs on and it will go in most places even before selecting 4. fuel economy good. better than LWB when off roading, but a little bit more bouncy than LWB cos it's lighter....if off roading remove side steps.
You can park em anywhere easily, my wife loves them, I am actually looking for another for her and to use Green Laning.

That's my input may help...:)

Jez was easy to convince....

just say you can pour Veggi into the tank and he was there!!!

ah thought lpg was cheaper and more ecocnomical over bio or straight vo :thumbs

i didnt realise the price of parts was so high tho thats alot of cash for the brake disk

that maybe so Kbekl, but Bio and SVO can be used with out costly convertions..

just pour it in and off you go.. not need for twin tanks or any thing else really.

true but if it comes with the motor its free lol:thumb2

free fuel :thumbs

but you can only use 2,500 which in the t2 is

13,750 miles a year i dont even do 10,000 miles lol

like the sound of that i would get 16,500 miles all for free,

the piss take is though if i was in cornwall i have access to about 100ltrs of free oil per week and i would save on the pick up of it as well

Just for the record, my vote against WVO and home-brew bio-diesel!

The latter is possibly OK but I can't be fagged with the inevitable filter changes required when it first strips your fuel system of shite - plus you don't get rid of the chemical catalysts that are used to process it (not with home-brew anyway, petrol forecourt is an entirely different matter)...and theres little evidence for what it might do to your motor long-term. So run it in an old banger but not your pride and joy is my advice!

The former sucks period. Filter it as much as you like, what you won't get rid of are all the shite compounds and chemicals you get that DON'T exist in diesel, animal fats, acids, large amounts of water and other weird solvents etc...

SVO wins every time.:thumb2

wvo and Bio are way to much time consuming, and MESSY!

svo for me too

Great car; I'd kill for a really good condition 40-series though, one of my all-time favourites.

The very newest one also has this very horny CRAWL function which sounds terrific - just want you want for relaxed off-roading:thumb2

their are many things you an do to make any 4x4 better

the biggest problem with most of the part time 4x4's is the stupid independent front suspension, this is the biggest draw back due to height limits and clearance limits

the one big problem with the nissan 4x4's is the front end it s just too far in front of the tyres which is one place the jeep wrangler and defender have the advantage

An argument on perspectives think about it from the other angle - the lack of independent front suspension and chunky front end give the jeep and the defender an disadvantage in on road hadeling and aerodynamics making for an uncomfortable ride - it depends how you look at it really!

The T2 is an excellent all rounder, alternatively buy a nice bently for the road and a JCb for off road LOL

Totally agree - if you want a ballsout offroader and the approach angle of a T2 isn't adequate then build a bloody rock-crawler. But frankly with decent large tyres and the torsion bars wound up a little bit there isn't much on legal UK tracks that it can't tackle.

Its daft to accuse a T2 of being incapable in, say some pay 'n play quarry site, when even a Landy thats straight out of the box probably won't be any better.

But to give Toyota its due, their 4x4 pedigree is every bit as long and good as Land Rovers, and in recent decades has steamed ahead on the quality front.

sorry un true mate ,my oil is cleaner than svo iam down to 0.1 micron.and oil has been lab tested

done 10,000 miles on dongo so far(nice tidy waggon)

40,0000 miles on t4

my mates done 100,000 miles

and know loads of other doing the same for years.

With the right kit on the right fuel pump, good oil,its fine.
wrong kit,wrong bio,wrong fuel pump= pumps break.

Only change filter once year on service, running on aprox 95% veg in main tank, and diesel in seperate tank, only switches over when coolant up to temp, then passes through heatexchanger and a glow plug in a heating loop.

oil hits pump at 60 oc nice and thin, then i shut down on diesel ,thus starting on diesel in morning.

You hear oh probs when people just throw it in and it blocks the filters.

Iam not here to push it on you,to be honest i would rather you dont use it,more for me...

how much would 50,000 miles cost you?

plank they wont sell it at the pumps, there is not svo arround to supply, and most new cars dont like it
