or .... get a patrol :thumb2

sory Briggie if it's boot space you want a transit wins hands down lol

Joke:
I heard a girl say 'size doesn't matter,' it made her sound really shallow! :lol

having tried permanent 4x4 and seectable 4x4 on many different vehicles, part time is the way to go! That's why it is so popular!

In answer to an earlier post i beleive every land rover ever built including freelanders are all permanent 4x4!

the older landrovers had manual freewheeling hubs and no centre diff so same set up as the terrano but with out the rear lsd:thumbs

When i was a kid we lived next to a man who repaired and restored landies for a living (still does) and i got to know them fairly well, I understood that the manual; hubs were an add on, not a standard feature to overcome the problems of permanent 4wd! I don't think they were ever standard. Though i'll stand corrected if i am wrong!

whatever you buy you'll be welcome back, i have had gaps of a couple of years with no Nissan and still been a member just because it's such a good club! :thumb2

the boot thing was one reason why i didnt go for a mav/t2 and the trooper offered a better option seat wise and the inside is alot bigger i have noticed

having played with the 3 4x4's i have had they only one to get stuck in 4wd was the mk1 paj, the mav and the trooper show no difference in off road ability both are capable of going anywhere a land rover can

maintanace tho have found the mav to be more expensive to keep and to run

65k fsh i though was a good price?maybe not! ooops

plank,thanks mate

Not the worst price you'll ever see. Knock em down 500 (which should be easy this time of year) and its very reasonable if mileage is genuine.

LR's are made in england have a long history both of these facts have added to their 'mystical' prowess, and you can get lots of 'off the shelf' mods, but they aren't the be all and end all of the 4x4 world by anymeans!

They copied not exceeded jeeps anyway.

Real quality brit engineered lr production disappeared years ago.

If you want a real off roader to beat a defender in standard military type trim the wrangler based j8 rocks

ps I really enjoyed towing a stuck disco during the snow. Big hefty lump of lard it was.

their are many things you an do to make any 4x4 better

the biggest problem with most of the part time 4x4's is the stupid independent front suspension, this is the biggest draw back due to height limits and clearance limits

the one big problem with the nissan 4x4's is the front end it s just too far in front of the tyres which is one place the jeep wrangler and defender have the advantage

not yet bud,my head is about to explode under the choices...nut its till on th e terrano side of thinking..

The discovery idea is now i distaint memory, sorry about that :(:bow
