Is there such a thing as a manual for the maverick which covers all types of repairs avaible

go on give us a clue:augie:augie:augie

cant see it in the download sectionnwhere should i be looking?

click on workshop manuals , then look for terrano r20 , click on download , simples :naughty

sorted cheers

Just be aware though that this manual is a 2002 publication, so covers facelift MkIIIs and IVs, so there may be small variations between those and the earlier Maverick/MkII Terrano.

Ignore that - although it covers the 3.0 litre (introduced in 2002 same time as facelift) it doesn't cover certain basics like fixed hubs, so not quite sure what the hell its aimed at! :doh

What year was fixed front hubs phased in and freewheeling hubs phased out?

Is it easy to tell by viewing front hubs?

Fixed hubs came in with the facelift, no phasing in or out as far as I'm aware. So they only pertain to MkIII and IV trucks, which you can tell by the larger grille and different bumpers. Also the sun visor instructions won't specify a maximum speed for 4WD selection (I think the MkII can only select 4WD up to about 28mph on the move, whereas theres no limit for the fixed hubs). :thumb2

Not sure about visual inspection but the above should be a dead cert.

Slight clarification to all this....

Always remember your own advice (in this case "RTFM!").......and having done so, what I now realise is that the 2002 manual, despite being primarily for the facelift marque, actually covers both eventualities.

In the diagram below (ignore the red circling that I used for another thread), the section circled in BLUE is what you have with fixed hubs - the drive flange shown will bolt on to the stub axle and replaces the 'auto hub' assembly shown just above it.

Hope thats helpful! :thumb2

this post is about the manual in general not hubs

You clearly missed my point?

It was simply saying that despite the manual being a 2002 publication, and therefore on the face of it for facelift trucks only, I had found at least one area where it covered both facelift and MkII, and therefore by definition your Maverick.

It also answered Dynamics question.

So what exactly was YOUR point?
