I picked up an ipod at a car boot sale at the weekend, it came with a cable that connects to a usb port on my computer.
I plugged it in and it charged up fine and is working ok, thing is, i would like to delete the music that is on it and load my own but dont have a clue where to start.
Give me a socket set or a set of spanners and i'll tackle anything but technology leaves me stumped.
Can anyone out there tell me how i go about downloading music onto it:confused:

Itunes can be so a pain in the ar*e,having to convert diffrent formats to play on it.But there again had one for 8 yrs and still going strong.

I've managed to delete everthing and restore it to factory settings, i'm in the process of importing a cd but it looks as though it could take ages, its telling me it will take 1.2hrs, is this right.

I thought it seemed long when it said it would take 1.2hrs to upload a cd.
Its taken that to load 3 tracks, something dont seem right.

what's an ipod

I know my youngest son keeps leaving them in his pockets and they end up in the washing machine!

i used media player with my iPOD, and a little £10 plugin to enable that feature as its way better than iTunes. As for your CD, best thing is to rip the CD using media player, and if you must use itunes, just point it at yoru music folder and transfer to ipod that way.

the media player plugin can be bought here http://www.mgtek.com/dopisp/

I thought at £5 it was a good buy but i have been uploading a cd to itunes, its now been running for 3.5hrs and has only uploaded 6 out of 21 tracks.
Aint technology great:doh

well, fret not. if you use that plug in form that website, it intergrates with media player. so, you rip your cd, and it goes into a music folder, media player knows this and when you open it, theres your music. the rip shouldnt take more than 10 mins or so. Then, you plug in your ipod, media player will pick it up and give you various sync option-i dont allow mine to sync, so turn that off. all you do then is navigate to yoru music in media player, select an album, and drag it to sync, when ready, hit the sync button and away it goes..

ill take some screen shots tonight of the process for you if it helps and post them back here...
