Hi, the link is also in post 10 of this thread.

I have actually ordered and paid for a replacement part , just waiting for it to be delivered.

But it is out of a primera so the seller can not help me either.

i am a bit disappointed in the Nissan dealers lack of help, i used to have an Audi and there parts guy was always very helpful, same with fords actually.

But because i told this guy i could not afford what Nissan were asking and i need to know so i could source one second hand he showed no interest in helping me.

Looking at my French manual, that covers the 2.7TD model, the interior light controller only controls the interior lights.
According to the circuit diagram it only has 6 wires.

1 Input 3 door switches ( if a 5 door) not driver's door
2 Ground
3 Output to lights
4 Rear door input
5 12 volt supply via fuse 10, (fuse 10 also supplies interior lights)
6 Driver's door switch

I would suspect a faulty earth on the module/connector as per my earlier post.

I have no idea where it is but as a guess, there is a module behind the plastic triangular kick plate to the right of the throttle by your right foot.
This is held in by 1 screw behind a small plastic disc.

I have no idea what it does, but it is very very close to the driver's door open switch.... :nenau :nenau :nenau

I had this panel off the other day when I was installing my " front prop shaft rotation detector circuit". :thumbs

Hope this helps,
best regards,
Rustic

Parts dept can be real tossers at times; a couple of years ago I went in for a thermostat (which is exactly the same for all models from about 93 onwards!)....the manager asked me for my original reg when the private plate (on there ten years!) didn't show up on their scabby system.....as I couldn't remember it he went away and returned, sarcastically dropping a list of all the Terrano 'variants' in front of me and demanding that I tell him which one he should look for.

Can't remember exactly what I said to him now but the queue behind me was in stitches. I mean how does someone like that even get a job in Parts, never mind being bloody manager?????:doh:doh:doh

Luxury...... you want to go in and ask a Nissan Dealer for parts for a Ford Maverick...... I always say, it's a Nissan Terrano in Disguise....

They don't have a sense of Humour.
I guess the parts are so expensive because they have to build in the hour of labour to source the correct part. :lol :lol

I had the equivalent passenger side panel off today as this is where my repair manual (for the older model) said it is.
But it was not there, there was a speaker relay i think.

I will have a look behind the drivers side panel tomorrow.
Thanks

oddly, i have never had an issue getting nissan terrrano parts fomr ford! quicker, cheaper and in Nissan bags! Maybe fords parts system is better?

But i agree about parts departments in general, it remeinds me of the old adage 'give a little man a little power' they seem - on the whole - very hard work to deal with.

I thought the time control unit did all this,
The TCU (Time Control Unit) has the following functions.
INTERIOR LAMP TIMER
The interior lamp timer is controlled by the TCU.
The TCU keeps the interior lamp illuminated for about 30 seconds when:
I the ignition key is turned from “ON” to “ACC” to “LOCK”
I the driver’s door is unlocked
I a door is opened and then closed while the ignition switch is in the “OFF” position. (Interior lamp switch
in the “DOOR” position).
The timer is canceled when:
I driver’s door is locked, or
I ignition switch is turned “ON”.
IGNITION KEY WARNING CHIME AND LIGHT WARNING CHIME
The ignition key and light warning chime are controlled by the TCU.
The warning chime is combined with the TCU.
The light warning chime will not sound, when ignition switch is in the “ON” or “START” position. (When power
supply exists at TCU terminal U01 .)
With ignition switch in the OFF position, driver’s door open, and lighting switch in 1ST or 2ND position, warning
chime will sound.
Or, with the key in the ignition switch in the “ACC” or “OFF” position, and locking the driver’s door from the
inside, the warning buzzer will sound.
REAR WINDOW DEFOGGER TIMER
The rear window defogger and door mirror defogger system are controlled by the TCU.
The rear window and door mirror defogger operate only for approximately 15 minutes.
POWER DOOR LOCK (Super Lock)
The power door lock (super lock) is controlled by the TCU.
For further information, refer to “POWER DOOR LOCK — Super Lock” (EL-145).
MULTI-REMOTE CONTROL SYSTEM
The multi-remote control system is controlled by the TCU.
When the following input signals are both supplied:
I Key switch OFF (when ignition key is not inserted in key cylinder);
I door switch CLOSED (when all the doors are closed);
The two above signals are already input into time control unit. At this point, time control unit receives a LOCK
signal from remote controller. Time control unit locks all doors and set super lock with input of LOCK signal
from remote controller.
When an UNLOCK signal is sent from remote controller once, driver’s door will be unlocked and release super
lock.
Then, if an UNLOCK signal is sent from remote controller again, all other door will be unlocked.
MULTI-REMOTE CONTROLLER ID CODE ENTRY
For detailed procedure, refer to “ID Code Entry Procedure” (EL-179).
THEFT WARNING SYSTEM
The theft warning system is controlled by the TCU.
For further information, refer to “THEFT WARNING SYSTEM” (EL-209).
TIME CONTROL UNIT (TCU)

Eitherway its not behind the panel by the drivers foot there was a blue relay there.
But thanks for trying to help.

I do not know where else to look.
