Just bought a 1995 ford maverick 2.4 petrol SWB NAIL! and along with all the other problems the interior lights are in-op, all bulbs OK, have looked at wiring diagram and it may be down to dimmer control but i don't know where it may be located, any one in the know?

Does the back door light work ?
If so it could be the switch part of the roof light. It's just a bit of bending reqd to sort it :augie
Good luck:thumbs
If not check out the door switches as they make the earth I think and if it's been sitting for a while could be all poo in there!
WD40 and wire brush:cool:

no interior lights at all, if the lights are put on then the dash door open light comes on so it is picking up earth though the switchs so must be OKAY, seems to point to dimmer relay/ecu just dont know where it is?

I'm sure theres no dimmer ever been fitted on these Dino?

There is a dimmer / timer on them sir, but no idea where though, sorry:confused:

Have a look at the light fitting where the bulb is held and see if any wires have come off, corroded, you might have to pull it out (the fitting).

The Mistral has the interior light that dims when you shut the drivers side but goes straight out if you use any other door, I wonder if you are have a dimmer like that?

Update on lights.
So i checked under bonnet and checked fuses on O/S all OKAY
I checked two relays on N/S as i had the fan out and give them a tap (just in case the relay was sticking in side on the contacts)
B y the way the fan was tight and as i kept turning it by hand it freed up so it is now working :thumbsany way checked fuses to fuse box and found that one of the top fuses (i think 4 from left)was blown, which is really odd as i had checked all fuses and they were OKAY :doh
So changed the little bugger (10a) and ha ho the lights now work
From the front doors the mid interior lights light up with a dimmer control which fades out the light after approx 5 sec,any way the rear door switch was in op so removed and earth the wire and it worked, stripped the switch and found contact broken so new switch required.
All in all sorted :thumbs
