If it were purely for performance yes, BUT where mud is a factor , no.
The i/c gets full of mud and stops any air cooling effect. Then it also acts as a baffle from the actual radiator and so restricts engine cooling.
So in short leave it. You can however fit a bigger t/m i/c :naughty
See my thread

Meant to ask actually, did that make a difference :nenau

As Makeitfit has said for a road going motor FMIC is the way to go to unleash a bit more power but for an off roader that go's through a lot of mud it'll prob have a negative affect:augie
Makeitfit did the mist jets make much difference ?

I do the mist jet job meself then.

it must help keep things cool.

after doing a body lift the rubber surround that's on the bonnet scoop wont reach the intercooler. so any air rammed through the scoop isn't nesasarily being pushed into the ic.
a fan on the top will push the air where I want it.

as for the mist jets.
think about how you test the wind direction. wet your finger and blow on it. it is a lot lower temp with the added water

You could always extend the rubber down to the I/C by getting another rubber below off a scrapped T2 & cut the lower 4" off & attach it onto yours:augie As for the mist jets I was thinking of fitting 2 at the front of the I/C so the air flow through the scoop should push the water down & back into the fins of the I/C

Ya know that little A/C heat exchanger in behind the dash that cools the air that comes out yout vents.....why not plumb another one of those in series with the original but having atop a top mount intercooler with a fan on that.....just an idea.

Won't help as it will use power from the engine for a/c.

At the mo the Black Pearl is undergoing major open heart surgery. As such I can't tell you empirically if the bigger i/c and water sprays have any meaningful gains
However we're on a roll at the mo and will soon have the beast on a rolling road. then we'll see :naughty

Will be very interested to see if the water jet sprays do help things:augie bet you can't wait to find out what your engine is putting out:rolleyes:

I don't think theres any need for relays on this mod is there?
