Well, just renewed my insurance with LV £231 fully comp... :clap

Just sorted mine out too, £172 fully comp - but then I'm an old fart and there's no modifications on her.

Not bad price. Mines comes down a whole lot too.

£300 fully comp, Offroading + other extras like driving other peoples cars third party, pretty much any mod.

I'm 25 now so that helped alot.

So, if you mod the vehicle by saying... a body lift and fitting a snorkel, then surely if you live in a high flood risk area, then you're less likely to make a claim, so surely the premium MUST be cheaper! :nenau

Having seen loads of flood damaged cars... I wonder if the owners took "reasonable" precautions to protect their car, during the announcements of the floods.
Noah moved his boat to higher ground and he still got flooded...
:lol:lol
OR will this be yet another get out clause for the insurance companies?

I feel sorry for these people for the stress and losses they are facing.

No doubt another excuse to increase the price of grain etc :doh

Rustic, you've made two fundamental errors in that post
First of all you confuse an insurance company for one who gives a damn.
Secondly , one can not apply "Logic" to premium prices :doh
However I'm happy to say my fully modded policy has gone down this year again to 212 quid :D ker ching :naughty

my ins is up 21st next month and been looking around.most wont fix as its befor 30 days but get an idear.
lowest is 172 but no windscreen cover.
comp, protected and screen, car comes in at about 200.
i will be happy with that.
that is axa,who do you insure with.as there might be a gem out there.

Mine hasn't any modifications, I do wonder about making some, but I know it'll probably hit my pocket each year on renewal and reduce the range of shysters to choose quote from. So far, I haven't needed any mods anyway.

This renewal was Direct Line - previous quotes from them have been laughable, but this year they beat the rest of 'em.

Mine's cheaper with mods than I could get as std :D
I have history and points :doh

£345 TPF&T 2001 T2 LWB 38yo driver, 6 points, parked on the street in Belfast, that includes commuting, windscreen cover and with the OH as a named driver.

Funny enough it's £9 cheaper than my last car which was a 1994 Pug 106D on it's last legs.

I'll never understand insurance companies, my bike insurance keeps going up every year, but my 4 wheel insurance drops.

I know you'll think im mad, but i often tinker with confused.com

Beleive it or not quotes are cheaper at night time! Fact!

Your job description came make upto around 150 quid difference check money supermarket "insurance job description" find the cheapest on the list relevant to you.

How long you have owned the vehicle makes a massive difference.

Area again (tried under 2 different family homes) first car was 2500ish in london compared to 990 devon....

Black box does shit all...

Oh sometimes fully comp is cheaper so dont rule it out!!

Changing excess effects price, also too high an excess will increase your premium believe it or not!!

Annual mileage too low or high makes a difference too. I find about 8000 a year is a good number. along with my own personal tweaks. There are many more tweaks. I have done over 500 quotes with confused.com since I started driving.
