Decals or any signage on the vehicle is a mod, this is why...

If a door is damaged, then to put the car right, then they would need to replace the decals, which for whatever reason may no longer be available.

The insurance company would have to spend loads of money to sort this out, so they charge extra for it just in case later on.:clap

So if is not declared, they can't put the vehicle back to its pre accident condition.
 
I have a friend who had this issue recently with a factory fit 'a' bar on a Freelander, it was the only thing damaged in a small shunt. The insurance approved repairer took it off, discovered they couldn't get a replacement, and put it back on again (only a small dent) sent the car back and demanded the £250 excess!
 
Dave let me down, kept promising to call me back, then claimed to have 2 prices but was busy (I'll cal, you back) then had no prices as my car was too new! then promised to call me back again! Went with AXA in the end :thumb2

Did they cover the Mods as well? (presuming you have some)

Mine is due in a week or two, so looking for inspiration.
