Go back onto compare and get a quote for just you and the wife. Then ring co up for details of add ons after:sly

Costs more with just me and 'er-indoors. She's 32, main driver (although I own the car) I'm 30.

Also put the father-in-law on cause hes a mechanic..... and old!!!! :augie Normally pulls price down a little!

i allways look on 'go compare' and 'confused'
then wait for the lowest 5 companies to call you and offer to beat the online price, they usualy do it the next day and you can play them off against each other!

exactly what i do, and we pay £150 full comp, protected, but its only a 1998 2.7tdi :naughty

With this years renewal came a surprise, it was actually cheaper for me to insure the terrano fully comp than tpft £220 fully como & £247 tpft so fully comp it is, the first time in years!!!!:thumb2

Just given Sureterm a ring to ask why its shot up.... 1 min on the phone, they dropped the price to £420 :nenau

Might give it a few days and ring them again to say Ive had another quote for £380.... see if they'll beat that! :augie

Seems there just pickin numbers out of thin air... although he did enphasis that this insurance covers me for off-road and greenlaning.... not that I plan on rollin it in the near future! :D

hmmm, I'd check very carefully what he means by "Offroading":augie
The green lane bit is expected really as it's still a highway, just not tarmaced for example. "Offroading" suggests private ground, comps and pay n play sites etc:sly Quite handy if you actually have it:naughty

Try calling NFU, have to say tho 400 is about average when I've shopped around. Also try Adrian Flux, not tried them but I've heard a lot about them as they are 4x4 specialists.

Cheers Jim, I'll give them a go in the morning.

Makeitfit, I thought that about the greenlanes, apparently the 'off roading' is anything so long as its not rallying/compertition driving... with the excess they want I'd have to do some fair decent damage to make it worth a claim!!!! :lol

Just renewed mine today on 94 Maverick 2.7 and got best overall policy with CIS by using their own website not a price comparison one.
Price for me with max NCB and bonus protection was £225 and bear in mind my postcode - would be much cheaper in an area without 'mystery injury claims' at roundabouts etc!

insurance companies really get my goat!

i live in an area which according to the postcode gets whacked for car insurance, due to joy riders in maestro's in the bad ald days, though how anyone can associate the word joy with driving a maestro beats me!

Anyway, i live on top of a bloody big hill, so flooding not an issue and will never be!

So why does my house insurance go up to pay for other peoples flooding, when their car insurance doesnt go up to pay for car crime in my area?

seems like a flipping rip off if you ask me

Well thats me a pikey, gypo, didicoy, i've heard them all, no it was some scruffy white english, lower working class folk in a council house, but it might be considered prejudice to say that, not a Gypsy / Romany by any other name in sight! ;)

£70 for k&n that is taking the pi**, mine was £165 for the wife, with me as spouse, i thought it was £150 as i said in an earlier post, try getting a quote for your wife, and you as spouse, some companies like lady drivers :augie and quote cheaper, costs nothing to find out and may save you a bob or two.:thumbs:naughty
