Another thought, get as cheap a car/insurance combo that you can that is fully comp and covers you to drive other cars third party with their permission. Then transfer the T2 to someone else you trust and then you can at least be legal on the road. I'm assuming your dad is already insuring it to be road legal at the moment anyway.

they define commuting as driving to one place of work. Is that what you will be doing?
If not you will need business insurance...
so £1100 for your T2 and you can now ring the specialist companies we have mentioned and try and get a bit more knocked off.
As for work, if your photos shoots etc. are more hobbies than work at the moment why tell your insurer? I am with Academy and have off road cover and business cover :thumb2
