Another thought, get as cheap a car/insurance combo that you can that is fully comp and covers you to drive other cars third party with their permission. Then transfer the T2 to someone else you trust and then you can at least be legal on the road. I'm assuming your dad is already insuring it to be road legal at the moment anyway.

aye dads insuring it, might inquire about transferring it into my mums name if it has to be with someone i trust!:augie

He wont get cover to drive other people's cars 3rd party anymore. Not till 25
Also as I said yesterday, GET A BLOODY QUOTE for anything, like a mini or renault5 etc. As a learner driver, then as a qualified one, just make up age etc and see what you get.
You will be dissappointed :augie

I can drive any other car thats already insured and privately owned, I am 24. Although I am on mpre specialised insurance for my mods :naughty

But I doubt there is anything like that for 17-22yr olds.

If you are going to use the car for your business it will cost you more than social and domestic use. David.

quoted £1099.00 by Collingwood. done through confused.com, that's also covering commuting, which i'll be doing

now to compare some other makes!

they define commuting as driving to one place of work. Is that what you will be doing?

If not you will probably need business insurance...

ill driving to locations to do photo shoots etc also probably off road too for various photo locations

so £1100 for your T2 and you can now ring the specialist companies we have mentioned and try and get a bit more knocked off.

As for work, if your photos shoots etc. are more hobbies than work at the moment why tell your insurer? I am with Academy and have off road cover and business cover :thumb2

BUT remember that's with collingwood who ONLY insure learner drivers. It's all much of a muchness there until you pass your test and then things go up big time. That's when your T2 will be bonkers money. Fez is right re business cover. Collingwood wont cover that or any mods whatsoever .
It's shit out there buddy.
I know as I've just been through all this for my son.
Insured him as learner with Collingwood, as they were the cheapest, for one year.£880 for a 1.1fiesta . Then got him to take his test. He then started his 2nd year driving as a qualified one with one years no claims discount. Then he trawled the market to find an affordable company. :doh

insurance is so bloody complicated, you'd almost think they are trying to stop us younger people from driving (

They are because your age group has some bad stats. Everyone in an age group suffers because of it unfortunatly for you. David.

yup , the premium is supposed to reflect the alleged risk to the insurance company
